Keberangkatan Mas & Yam ke Liverpool

Apasal malas sangat nak buat apa2 ni? Nak update blog pun malas. Layan movie jer rajin. Baru lepas abis tengok Knocked^Up. Eh silap. Tak abis lagi. Turned out, citer yang diupload tu tak sampai abis. Rasanya tinggal 5 - 10 minit jer lagi. Kira tengok movie tergantung lah ni. Tengah try link yg lain plak. Hopefully, kali ni dapat full. Tapi nak menunggu abis download tu, mau berjam gak.

Ok, celoteh di atas takde kena mengena dgn tajuk.

Alhamdulillah, Mas & Yam selamat sampai ke Liverpool pada petang Sabtu 25/7. Depa naik train dari London Euston pukul 2:07pm. Aku check kat internet, dijangka sampai pukul 5:15pm. Pukul 4:30pm, Mas call kata dah sampai plak. So, aku pun tergesa2 bersiap & gi train station.

Makan di Nando's, our colleague yg tinggal di Stoke belanja. Rezeki. Kebetulan dia telefon in the morning, kata nak jumpa.

Jalan2 di Liverpool One, kedai semua dah tutup. So, terus ke Anfield. Yer pertama kali aku ke Anfield. Naik bas nombor 17, tunggu di bus stop nombor 6 di Queen Square. Catatan untuk diri sendiri.

Rupanya senang je nak pegi Anfield. Bas betul2 berhenti depan stadium. Teringat kat JD. Rasa sedih & terkilan plak sebab tak gi Anfield dgn D. Maklum lah masa tu masih bengap lagi. Really sorry D.

Tapi Anfield pun dah tutup. Yer lah, dah pukul 7 lebih.

Balik ke city centre pukul 8 lebih, tapi masih terang. So ke Albert Dock amik gambar.

Esoknya, pagi2 berjalan kaki, I showed them my dept & UoL landmark. Kemudian ke Beatles Story di Albert Dock. Tempat ni dah semakin kecik berbanding masa aku datang dulu. Lepas Cavern Club, pulang headset terus habis. Takde dah imej atau tulisan besar yang cantik di dinding. Susah lah nak describe. Check this post out... tempat gambar2 belah kiri tu, dah takde dah.

Rupa2 nya la ni ada satu lagi cawangan Beatles Story kat Pier Head. Masuk guna tiket yang sama. Tapi kitorang tak sempat pegi.

Oh yer, the weather wasn't welcoming. Keluar bilik dlm hujan & almost sepanjang hari Ahad tu hujan. That's UK anw.

Next, we went to Anfield again. Lawat muzium & membeli belah. Balik semula ke city centre, had lunch & did a quick shopping.

Balik bilik, depa kemas barang. Pukul 4:30pm, I sent them away by taxi to catch 5:01pm train to Manchester Airport.

To Mas & Yam, thanx a lot for coming. You guys have made my day! Sorry yek di mana2 yg kurang.

Huh, berat sape la ni??? Kalau tak insaf gak tak tau lah.

Cukup2 lah tu makan melantak. Makan bila perlu sahaja dgn kuantiti yg seadanya. Stress sekali pun, kontrol sikit nafsu makan tu.

Tak yah lah nak tunggu bulan pose baru nak start diet, takde maknanya. Seminggu raya dah cover balik sebulan pose.

Boring!

After 1 1/2 hours, I started checking my watch & feeling uncomfortable. Huh, sejam lg nak abis. Tukar posisi duduk. Tukar lagi. Bila dah boring, duduk pun serba tak kene lah. I'm talking about Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince.

I'm not a HP fan. I don't read the book. So, I only expect it on par with the previous one. Btw, before watching this movie, aku tengok HP3, 4 & 5. I enjoy watching HP3 & 4 again. Yg ke-5 aku tgk (utk pertama kalinya) online sdgkn mmg dah rancang nak beli DVD sekali dgn HP1 & 2 keesokan hari. Tapi sebab tak sabar punya pasal tengok lah online. Mula2 ingat nak tengok sikit jer, sbb masa tu pun hampir pukul 12am tp akhirnya terlayan sampai abis. Skrin kecik with no subtitle, still I enjoy watching HP&TOoP.

HP&THBP ni bagi aku takde aksi, tak adventure sangat & kurang magik. Ada part kelakar, tapi gitu2 jer lah. Maybe for some audiences find that teenage crushes between Harry-Ginny & Ron-Hermione are so sweet. But for me, I'm not easily touched by love scene. I didn't even get bitten by Cullens when I watched Twilight. So, setakat love between these young couples mmg aku tak rasa apa2 lah. In fact aku rasa memang I'm not supposed to feel anything. I don't feel the connection between the 2 pairs especially Harry-Ginny.

Paling menyedihkan bagi aku ialah bila Dumbledore mati tak sedih langsung. Watak penting tu, tapi mati tak tragik pun. I think this is the biggest failure in the movie. Aku lebih terasa bila Optimus Prime mati wlupun tau yg dia takkan mati utk selamanya. Part rumah Ron terbakar looks insignificant. Macam tergantung je. These 2 parts should be more intense. Elaborated by more fighting scenes & a special funeral for Dumbledore maybe.

The movie might be a bad adaptation or whatever based on the book. I don't read the book so I don't care about how they're supposed to adapt it. I only care about what I watch. Really I think they decide to screw this movie intentionally. Whatever we do, still people will watch it & the fan would love just seeing Harry Potter in action, so why give a damn. Hahahaa... now I sound like I hate it. No I don't but got carried away while typing this review. For me, it's an emotionless story. No climax. Aku bagi 2.5/5.

DVD HP1 - 5. Don't mind to watch HP6 again, but only in DVD.

Balik bilik layan DVD HP1 & 2 back to back, lagi enjoy. Ramai org kata HP3 is the best, but I like HP2 the most. Macam2 ada. Somehow bila tengok HP2, baru aku nmpk Ginny mmg suka kat Harry & there's something between Ron & Hermione. Apa2 pun HP6 is the worst.

Sebelum tengok wayang, sempat beli Crocs. Mary Jane for me...

& Athens for JD.

Jadi tetap pulang dengan ceria. Now I'm thinking about buying jibbitzs for my Mary Jane. Might be too old for that but hey never too old to be young =D.

Perkhidmatan Percuma!!!

Byk sbnrnya benda yg aku nak tulis. Tapi... macam biasalah kan, aku kan bz. Nak approve komen pun amik masa berhari-hari.

Ok, 2 bulan lagi aku nak balik. Yeehaaaa!!! I'll be back for good. Even graduation day on Dec 8 pun aku takkan attend. Wah, macam pasti giler bunyinya kan. Tapi mmg takde hati langsung nak attend walaupun tiket pergi balik KL-London AirAsia RM2k jer.

Sabtu lepas aku gi shopping. Ingat nak gi Manchester, tapi bila sampai city, nmpk ada sale. So decided shopping kat Liverpool ni jer lah. Ingat nak beli handbag, tp takde pun yg berkenan. Beli sepasang kasut kat Clarks...

& 6 helai 'tudung' Tie Racks.

Clarks tu after 50% discount dapat lah ~£25. Tudung Tie Racks tu plak after sale £3 jer satu. La ni, kalau shopping pun aku fokus kpd office attire. Maklum lah, 2 bulan lg nak kene masuk keje balik. Huwaaaaaa...

Tetiba aku rasa nak offer diri menjadi personal shopper... atau pembeli-belah peribadi. Yes, I'm willing to be your personal shopper for free!

Saya sudi membelikan anda apa2 yg anda nak beli di UK ni, khasnya di Liverpool. Selain Clarks & Tie Racks, nak tau apa yg ada di Liverpool, check website ni.

Ok lah, aku citer skit apa yg ada kt Liverpool ni. Aku rasa tak byk yg ada kat Liverpool ni. Jgn berangan lah nak beli designer handbags or shoes. Aku berangan gak, tapi takde kat sini. Nak tau brand handbag apa yg ada kat sini, boleh lah check website Debenhams. Actually aku ni bukan lah personal shopper yg baik sbb aku sendiri jarang shopping. Kalau ada permintaan, akan diusahakan. Tapi tak janji ok.

Ahad, keesokkan harinya aku gi Manchester. Ingat nak jenguk designer handbag kat Selfridges. Tapi takde sale plak. Rasa kecik diri bila tengok 1 handbag harga beribu pound. Dah takde sale, lalu jer lah. Segan nak belek lebih2. Tak beli apa2 pun. Mood shopping mati sebab tak nampak pun perkataan SALE.

Dah sampai Manchester, rugi plak kalau nak balik gitu je. End up tengok Transformers 2 in IMAX. Kat Liverpool takde IMAX theater. Saja nak cuba apa yg bestnya IMAX ni. Rupanya IMAX ni pakai giant screen. Sebelum start citer, beriyer2 intro pasal IMAX ni. Crystal clear image, digitized... siap they call it 'experience' not just watching movie. Tapi tak clear mana pun gambar dia. Macam pakai projektor gak, cuma zoom. Tak tau lah IMAX tipu ke atau Odeon kat Manchester ni yg tipu. Yg pasti skrin dia mmg besar giler. Aku rasa ada 4 kali ganda or more drp normal screen. Sampai susah nak fokus especially tang robot tu bergaduh. Not for me. Aku lebih selesa tengok skrin normal jer. Tapi kalau betul the image is crystal clear, maybe the experience would be better. Nasib baik citer best, so kali kedua pun layan.


Oh yer, balik kepada perkhidmatan percuma yg ditawarkan, selain membeli apa yg ada di Liverpool ni, saya juga sudi membeli-belah secara online utk anda. Kalau ada benda yg berkenan cthnya di eBay atau Amazon, tp shipping only in UK, saya boleh tolong belikan.

Ok kawan2, just tell me so ok kalau nak aku tolong belikan apa2. Aku tau yg masuk blog aku ni pun member2 aku jer, tu yg berani menawarkan perkhidmatan percuma ni. Kalau benda tu sikit, aku boleh lah selit sekali dgn barang2 aku. Tapi kalau dah byk, kene lah charge lebih utk shipping.

The drawback is barang2 tu hanya akan sampai di Msia bersama dgn barang2 aku 6-8 minggu setelah aku balik. So, bulan 10 baru sampai. InsyaAllah. Kalau tak sampai, aku tak bertanggungjawab.

Esok, kalau ada progress in my project in the morning, I might go to the city after lunch to treat myself. Sbnrnya agak jemu dah dgn Liverpool city ni, tapi nak buat camna, ni lah antara cara menghiburkan diri di sini. Tengok perkataan SALE pun dah terhibur. Oh yer, maybe boleh tengok Harry Potter kat wayang.

P/s: Aku ada kelima-lima DVD Harry Potter yg dibeli di sini. Aku bukannya minat sgt Harry Potter ni. Yg ke-5 tu pun aku miss tgk kat wayang. Of course lah ori, mana nak dpt yg baik-punya kat sini. I know the DVD sold here is region 2, so might be incompatible with my home theater. Takpe, boleh layan guna laptop. Nampak sgt aku boring kat sini kan. Heheee.

My car sedang bersantai di Danau. Sila jeles yer sbb aku ada gambar kete parking sorang2 kt sini.

Yes I mean my car! & I don't miss my workplace.

Actually, I was clearing my mail inbox when I found email from D, sent on March 15, 2009 with the pics of the new car audio/video player (or we always refer it as a car radio) that he had bought (without consulting me) attached. I wanna delete the email but I wanna keep the pics. So I better keep the pics here, in my precious blog.

I'd say this new car radio can play anything, from DVD, CD, MP3, iPod & the best part is it can play USB as well! Wise choice, D =D. (Check here for the detailed features.)

The screen is small. But enough if you want to test the baik-punya DVD that you've just bought from pasar malam or so-called DVD shops. No need to get home to test it, then find it's not up to your standard :-P & drive back to the shop to return it. For a bigger screen, just buy a separate one & connect to this player.

Also has bluetooth & a built-in mic so you can connect to your mobile phone that works like a bluetooth handsfree. A call will interrupt whatever is playing on the player. Even the phone number can be displayed on the screen.

When I first saw this pic, the first thing that I noticed is the empty glove box except for the car radio accessories (mana lah D dah campak barang2 dalam compartment ni).

The best feature ever. Can play the songs, video or any supported format directly from USB! Before coming here, I bought a device that allow the car AV audio player (the old one couldn't play video) to play USB using RF. However it's just a medium for communication between USB drive & the player, no processor whatsoever. So cannot shuffle or choose the song interactively from the player. Even the sound is not good bcos it depends on the radio reception.

Now, I can play MP3s in USB, shuffle, pick the songs or album from the car AV player itself. No need to burn a CD of my favorite songs anymore! Driving becomes more fun absolutely.

Enough with the free promotion. =D

However, when I was back in Msia during the spring break, I only got 6 days to get to know the new player. Didn't even master using the touch pad. Oh yeah, I miss my car.

A post not worth a title

I was reaallyyyyyy pissed off yesterday. Hari ni dah kurang sikit. Kalau tak, ada yg kene kutuk dgn aku kaw-kaw dalam blog ni.

It's all due to the blocked sink in the kitchen. I don't understand why is't so hard to practice a simple common sense. Don't throw away the food waste in the sink! It will block the sink. Throw the food waste into the trash bin instead.

On Thursday night, I was about to cook instant noodle when I discovered the sink was dirty with food waste. When I washed my hand, the water didn't drain away.

On Friday, I went back from the lab, straight away to the kitchen to check the sink. It was half full with water & I noticed that the bin's lid was on the floor. I think the cleaner tried to leave a message that the food waste should be thrown away into the trash bin by taking off the lid.

Several days before, actually on Tuesday of the same week, the cleaner had asked me to tell others to keep the kitchen clean. She was mad because she had cleaned up the kitchen thoroughly on Monday, but on Tuesday it was dirty again. I suppose that everyone should know that they are responsible to clean up their own mess, don't expect the cleaner to do that. This has been reminded so many times already.

Maybe for a dirty person, it's ok not to clean up the mess that they have made after cooking & eating, then directly throw away the food waste in the sink instead of the trash bin. They wash their dishes & ignore the remaining food waste in the sink. It seems like the ugly sight of the kitchen doesn't bother them at all. Maybe it isn't dirty enough for them who used to live in a dirtier place.

Yeah, I write in English so that whoever bumps into this blog could understand that I'm pissed off & currently living with a bunch of Mainland Chineses (no surprise, huh?) who love cooking & inviting their friends to dine together but don't mind a dirty kitchen. They're too lazy to throw away the food waste into the trash bin & clean up the mess themselves. They take cleanliness for granted. & I'm talking about a bunch who supposed to be 'educated'. No wonder I heard people say their public toilets are extremely dirty. They dress nicely but fail in cleanliness. Kinda superficial. Maybe not all of them. Whatever. I'm writing from my experience.

I bought raw prawns on Thursday, plan to cook today. Guess I have to postpone the plan or will never execute it. This isn't the 1st time my plan to cook had been canceled due to the same problem. This is the main disadvantage of living here. It's ok. Only 2 months left.
