Decided to have a new label for Ayah’s story - AyahBeatsCancer. Decided not to update the journey part by part. Will just update according to the topics that I feel like to write. It might be a long journey, or it might not be. Allah knows best.
This is just a quick update on Ayah’s health history.
Actually Ayah was diagnosed with upper rectal cancer with lung metastasis on 2013. Ayah had went thru surgery & chemotherapy to treat the rectal cancer. Alhamdulillah, on 2014, no tumour recurrent.
However there was progression of the lung mets. Ayah had to go thru chemo again. But instead of 6 cycles (or 12) as planned by the doctor, Ayah only completed 5 & refused to proceed with the procedure. However, Ayah’s condition was fine, no shortness of breath or anything. So, I guess Ayah was free with his decision. Until 2017...
On July this year, Ayah showed sign of changes like difficulty to talk & write properly which made Mak worried. So on August, Ija brought Ayah to a clinic & the doctor suspected Ayah has brain tumour. After CT scan, he was proved right that Ayah indeed has tumour which is cancerous at his left frontal brain, hence affects his right side of body. Or in short, Ayah has brain cancer.
The initial plan was Ayah would be transferred to Ipoh since there is no specialist at Taiping. So just wait for Hospital Taiping to refer Ayah to Hospital Ipoh. Fortunately, after days & weeks Mak tried to persuade Ayah (gently) to move back to KL, finally Ayah agreed. They returned to KL on 28/8, just 4 days before Raya Haji, 5 days before he was admitted to HKL.

Ayah: Admitted
To make the story short, after Ayah was sent to ER on Saturday, 2/9, a day after Raya Haji, he had several checkups at Unit Separa Kritikal. Around 6, Ayah was admitted. He was placed at Radiotherapy & Oncology Unit, 1st class 4-bedded ward. Ija's GL actually only entitles for 2nd class ward, so it was fortunate that Ayah was placed at 1st class ward.
Only after Maghrib, JD, Ija & Kerol returned home. Sham stayed with Ayah temporarily. At 9, all of us went to hospital to send Mak & Ija where they'd be stay over for the night to look after Ayah. Since the ward was quite empty, only 2 beds were occupied including Ayah's, so it was OK for 2 persons to stay.
The next day, JD's turn to stay at the ward & at night, Sham took over. So the 3 of them - Ija, Sham & JD took turn to look after Ayah, along with Mak.
We had discussion to transfer Ayah to single-bed ward since Mak refused to go home & it was not comfortable for 2 persons to stay, shared with other patient. Furthermore, if the ward is fully occupied, then only 1 guardian per patient will be allowed. On Tuesday, 5 Sept, JD managed the ward upgrade process & Ayah was moved to a single-bed ward on our own expense since it's not covered by Ija's GL. The ward located just opposite the previous 4-bed ward.
Alhamdulillah, it was more comfortable. Boleh bentang toto kalau jaga malam. Tak perlu tarik tirai kalau nak privacy.

Ayah: Emergency
It was a long holiday but it was a busy one for us especially JD & his siblings.
On Merdeka Day, even I was kinda busy (promised Mak to help her cook, found out the kids' baju raya needed alteration, etc) I decided to go out with JD & the kids, & have lunch together since the weekend before JD was at Taiping. It was a wise decision cos the days after, we didn't have the opportunity to do so.
On Raya day 1, we went to Keramat only to find out Ayah's condition had worsen compare to last Monday, the day JD brought him home to Keramat. He looked vegetable to me & on our way home in the evening, I expressed my concern to JD.
At night, JD went to Keramat again. I stayed at home choosing & ironing the cloths for us to wear for my cousin's wedding reception. Around 11, Mak (in law) called me & told me about the discussion she had with JD to send Ayah to hospital tomorrow or as soon as possible (that night). But I told her, it should be done tomorrow. Just have enough rest & good sleep for the night. I kinda upset with JD for not telling his plan beforehand, but it was understandable. So when JD arrived home, we discussed some more, thought about the pros & cons. Ayah's condition had worsen, we were worried but we weren't sure whether the condition can be classified as an emergency. Ayah neither had any problem in breathing nor that he needed immediate attention. The plan to go to the wedding reception on the next day was called off since of course Ayah's health is more important.

Mertua
Sejak akhir² ini selalu terbaca kisah² mertua yang kurang enak. Pengotor, suka mencari kesalahan menantu lah & yang terkini mendera menantu.
Syukur sangat aku dikurniakan mertua yang baik. Bila baca kisah mertua pengotor, memang tak boleh bayangkan camna nak hadapi. Alhamdulillah, mertua ku khasnya Mak seorang pembersih macam Mak juga. Jenis yang cekap mengemas & memasak. Masak pun sedap & tak berkira. Memang tak mampu lah nak kontrol makan menjadi menantu yang ala² sopan tak mentekedarah 😬 bila balik ke rumah mertua.
Ayah pun rajin. Tak kisah buat kerja² rumah seperti menyapu sampah & membasuh baju. Rajin juga ke kedai/pasar beli barang² yang Mak suruh beli.
Walaupun bukannya senang sangat, mereka tak meminta². Jenis yang selalu kalau boleh taknak menyusahkan anak². Kedua²nya ringan mulut mengucapkan terima kasih walaupun benda yang dibuat tu memang tanggungjawab anak & menantu.
Alhamdulillah.
Semoga Mak & Ayah sentiasa dirahmati Allah.

Kepulangan
Alhamdulillah, pada 20/12 Mak Ayah selamat pulang ke Malaysia. Terserlah kegembiraan & kepuasan di wajah mereka.
Seronok sekali mereka bercerita tentang pengalaman di sana. Kami anak beranak sama² melihat gambar² yang sempat dirakam oleh Ayah ketika di sana. Ada juga Ayah selfie rupanya 😄.
Banyak juga barang yang mereka bawa balik. Menurut Ayah dia shopping seorang diri kerana sepanjang di sana Emak on off demam. Mungkin kerana tak tahan cuaca sejuk. Macam² yang ayah beli. Makanan berupa kurma, kekacang & coklat, jubah etc untuk diagih²kan kepada saudara-mara.
Walau bagaimanapun, kerusi roda Mak tidak muncul² di KLIA. Tak tau lah ke mana perginya. Takpe lah yang penting dah selesai semuanya. Mak Ayah pun dah pulang ke rumah sendiri di Taiping.
Memang tak sangka rezeki Mak Ayah menunaikan umrah tahun ni. Semua berlaku agak pantas. Melihat kegembiraan mereka memang berbaloi lah penajaan JD. InshaaAllah.
Bila lah pula peluang aku ke sana lagi.

Rindu
Ketika ini Mak & Ayah di Haramain untuk mengerjakan umrah. Melihat gambar² mereka di sana, ya Allah rindunya ingin ke sana lagi.
Actually, I did consider of going with them. Boleh bermahramkan Ayah. Tetapi memikirkan masa & keadaan ekonomi yang kurang sesuai, I had to pass. As for JD pula, since he had spent more than RM15k to sponsor them, to spend another RM7k++ sounds kinda much. Ayah kata takpe, dia boleh jaga Mak. Malah di Mekah nanti ada Cik Din boleh tolong tengok²kan.
Tapi kita hanya merancang, Allah lah yang sebaik² perancang. Rabu, sehari sebelum Mak Ayah bertolak, Cik Din telah diarahkan oleh majikannya untuk pulang ke Malaysia esok (Ahad). Jadi, Mak & Ayah takkan berkesempatan pun untuk bertemu Cik Din di Mekah kerana pada hari Khamis mereka akan bertolak ke Madinah dahulu & hanya akan tiba di Mekah hari Isnin.
Allah, hanya kepada Kau lah tempat kami bergantung.

Alhamdulillah, melihatkan gambar² yang kerap dikongsi oleh mutawif rombongan umrah Mak & Ayah, kelihatan mereka baik² sahaja. Kami anak² memang risaukan mereka. Maklum lah pasangan warga emas pergi berdua ke luar negara untuk kali pertama. Dengan Emak berkerusi roda. Ayah pula baru guna smartphone. Tak pandai nak utilize lagi. Semuanya terhad. Tetapi semangat mereka untuk pergi yang kuat. Sesungguhnya segala rezeki, kudrat & pertolongan dengan izin Allah jua.
Ya Allah, jagakan mereka untukku. Semoga ada rezeki untukku menjadi tetamu rumah-Mu lagi. Amin.

#hariharihariibu
Pasal sambutan hari ibu pun jadi isu.
Hmmm... Ada satu masa tu, aku pun tak pasti hukum Hari Ibu ni, so aku rasa tak payah lah sambut. I wrote about it here. Sebelum tu pun bukan sambut beriyer. Cuma telefon Mak kata I love you & mungkin belanja makan atau bagi hadiah. Bagi orang lain, mungkin la setiap hari dia buat macam tu so betul lah tu hari2 Hari Ibu. Tapi bukan aku. Rasa pelik pula telefon Mak saje2 nak bagitau sayang Mak. Ntah lah segan kot. Masa Hari Ibu atau hari jadi Mak, baru hilang segan tu.
So back to the year that I was kinda againts of Mother's Day, it made me think that I loose the opportunity to show appreciation to Mak, make her happy & gain pahala along the way. Fine, I could find any other day but I guess I didn't have the drive to do so since any other day is just other day.
So when people talk about everyday is a mother's day, I kinda feel annoyed. Yes, we should make our mother happy everyday by shower her with love, attention & presents ;). Just like I stated above, if we could do that everyday, so yes everyday is mother's day. But I'm pretty sure not all of us capable of doing so. Even worse, some of us at most of the times treat our friends better than our mothers. Not that we don't love our mother, just that we always take our mother for granted.
So if there's a day, any single day or couple of days that we can take sometime to actually show our love to our mothers, why not? Lillahita'ala.

A Short Break at Genting Highland
This was Iman's 1st holiday. Like she cares right. Actually, it was JD's idea. If it was up to me, I'd wait until Iman can walk just like Honey's 1st holiday. So off we went to Genting because we thought Honey would enjoy it. Of course we do know that even spending time at Kidzoona would make Honey happy. Fine, just a playground nearby would satisfy Honey.
Ok back to the plan, I guess why not. It'd be such an experience to bring a baby for a holiday, even a short one. As my principle when it comes to a holiday, the more the merrier, so I asked Kak Ty & Apit to join us.
We all sampai pukul 12. Boleh terus check in. But we decided to head directly to the indoor theme park. As expected, Honey enjoyed most of the ride.
In fact, all of us enjoyed the ride.
Lepas main & lunch, hampir pukul 3, kitorang pun ke bilik. Pukul 5, keluar balik, sambung main & dinner. 7:45pm balik bilik.
Pukul 9pm, JD & Honey keluar berdua jalan-jalan.
Tinggal lah Mama & Iman yang dah tido.
I guess this is the typical family holiday with a baby. Cannot be together all the time. Huhuu, ni yang buat rasa cepat lah Iman besar. Just like JD said, there are many activities we can do there besides enjoying the theme park like watching movie & playing bowling. Tapi kene lah tunggu budak2 besar dulu kan. Baru lah sesuai.
Esoknya, kami turun breakfast pukul 9am. Pukul 12 kami checked out. Honey & Iman mabuk. Dua2 muntah on the way turun dari Genting. Ok cancel pergi Cameron. Like it's on the plan, hehee.
Bila dah bad mood, dua2 nak kat Mama aje. Iman yang kecik pun tak mau kalah. Mengamuk nak tidur, tapi nak aku gak yang dodoikan. Yang kakaknya, nak tidur berbantalkan peha Mama gak. Masing2 sombong dengan Mak Mok. Masa pergi ok je. Ni lah ragam budak2. Tak boleh nak jangka.
Ok next holiday, tunggu dua2 besar.

The day I simply didn't mind wearing all red.
Since I got more than one reason to do so.
The clothes & the shawl doesn't quite match but I was consumed by red to care.
It was Chinese New Year.
It was Valentine's Day.
It was the day my cousin got engaged. We, the man's family/relatives wore red as the theme.
Congrats on your engagement!
The following morning, from Sg Petani we headed more to the north.
Masa untuk bercuti!

A Convoy to A Wedding
Ahad lepas ke Jengka. Ahad ni ke Banting, kenduri belah lelaki pula. Kali ni ke Banting berkonvoi lebih 15 buah kereta. Berkumpul dan sarapan di rumah Mak. Pukul 11:30am, mula bergerak ke Banting.
Berkonvoi menuju ke Banting, rumah keluarga pengantin lelaki.

A Trip to A Wedding
Last weekend was a hectic weekend, especially for D. Actually, on Saturday morning while I was typing the previous post, there was an Indon guy repairing the broken tiles outside the porch.
Then we went to Puchong to settle something. We had to wait almost 45 minutes there bcos our agent had another customer. I started feeling starving. When our agent babbled about the promotional & non-promotional items, I felt like shouting at him to cut it off. Seriously, to be on a diet is tougher than I thought. I did have a breakfast, but still starving for a lunch.
After the business is settled, we shot to Bukit Tinggi. Not really, we stopped at McD Drive Thru & bought 3 sets of meal just for the 2 of us =D.
So, here's the pics at Bukit Tinggi.

The next day, early in the morning we started our journey to my cousin's wedding. Arrived at 8:40am. The mak andam was preparing the bride for solemnization ceremony.
Tahniah CT!2 hours later, we headed back & reached home at 2pm. At 3pm, went to LCCT. D pun terbang ke Sabah. Me? Just did the thing that I enjoy most - relaxing at home :-).

Iftar with Family
Ni gambar2 berbuka posa Jumaat lepas... bukan semalam, Jumaat sebelum aku berangkat ke sini. Aku & famili berbuka posa kat Kenny Rogers. Biasa lah aku ni, carik tempat yg dekat dgn umah je.
~2:30pm aku gi Alamanda & book, order siap2 makanan kat Kenny Rogers. Nasib baik gi awal gak, sbb mcm dah nak penuh dah tempahan Kenny Rogers masa tu. Pastu balik lah rumah balik... takde benda pun nak buat kat Alamanda. ~6:40pm datang balik.
~2:30pm aku gi Alamanda & book, order siap2 makanan kat Kenny Rogers. Nasib baik gi awal gak, sbb mcm dah nak penuh dah tempahan Kenny Rogers masa tu. Pastu balik lah rumah balik... takde benda pun nak buat kat Alamanda. ~6:40pm datang balik.
Tengok ayam Kenny Rogers ni, rasa teringin lg lah plak. Isk, isk... godaan.

Gendang gendut tali kecapi
Last Sunday Mak held a majlis berbuka puasa attended by close family members. Seperti biasa, Mak masak banyak gila & seperti biasa sedara-mara diwajibkan menapau sebelum balik supaya habis semua makanan.
So, for the whole day (yes, for the 'whole day' indeed... ;-)) I ate nasi impit & kuah kacang, rendang daging & pulut kuning... my favorite dishes on hari raya. Absolutely nothing else but my favorite dishes. Of course, maybe at UK I'll having the same menu... but it won't be the same. They aren't just kuah kacang & rendang daging... Mak's cooking is my favorite, to be specific.
Betul lah kata orang dolu2 yang cipta pantun dua kerat ni...

Bowling Olympics?
Perlawanan bowling ini telah diadakan pada hari Selasa, 19 Ogos iaitu semalam, malangnya bukan di Beijing ttp hanya di Mines Shopping Fair... dari segi design bangunan lebih kurang lah kan mcm kat China.

4th - Ayap... hanya ketinggalan 1 mata di belakang Ijat.
5th - Ekin... pemain kidal.
Last a.k.a juara masuk longkang - Dil... the youngest, tangan masih terlalu keras.
Next time, klu ada rezeki kita main lg yek. Agaknya bila la tu. Yg ni pun aku gamble je bwk 5 org budak dlm 1 kete, maknanya 4 org dok belakang. Tak sampai hati plak nak tinggalkn yg paling kecik... wlupun muda compare to others, dia pun ada perasaan gak kan. Aku pk klu tetiba ada road block & polis nak saman semata2 4 budak kat belakang, aku suruh jer yg paling kecik tu kuar... mintak polis tu anta balik... mau meraung budak tu. Masa tu pandai2 lah polis tu nak pujuk.
Pas main bowling, xtvt shopping. Pkul 1.45pm, tgk wayang, citer Wallllllllllll Eeeee.
2nd - Nurul... mendahului pada awal game.
3rd - Ijat... hanya percaya pada satu bola (bola biru yg dipegang dlm gamba2 di atas).
4th - Ayap... hanya ketinggalan 1 mata di belakang Ijat.
5th - Ekin... pemain kidal.
Last a.k.a juara masuk longkang - Dil... the youngest, tangan masih terlalu keras.

La ni aku takde mood nak buat review filem. Before this tgk cite Dark Night & SATC: The Movie pun takde mood nak review. Bukannya movie2 ni tak best atau tak berkesan.
Eh, tetiba ada mood plak nak buat review filem. Wall-E - cite ni amat sesuai ditayangkan pada Hari Bumi sebagai tayangan amal. Filem yg amat bermesej. Tak cukup kelakar... membuatkan aku tak sabar2 nak tgk Ice Age 3. Silap aku gak... entered the cinema with high expectation based on reviews at CinemaOnline. 3 bintang.
Dark Night - "Why so serious?" soalan Joker yg mendebarkn. Aku takut dia toreh mulut org tu dgn pisau je. Filem ni berjaya buat aku tak senang duduk. Cuma lupa-dah-nama-dia jadi Two-Faced quite lame la. 4 bintang.
SATC: The Movie - drama or chick flick yg kira best gak lah. ~180 minit yg tidak membosankan. Bergenang gak air mata tgk the gentle Charlotte yelled at Mr. Big for Carrie's sake & how Miranda struggled to mend her marriage. Tp knp yek Miranda's marriage problem mcm tak besar jer berbanding masalah Carrie? Is't the disadvantage of being independent for Miranda & advantage for being dependent for Carrie? I don't expect any answer, just something to ponder. 3 1/2 bintang... errr... 4 bintang. Between that la.
Ok, back to the original topic, pas tgk wayang, continue shopping. Inilah xtvt cuti sekolah urban style... spend dlm shopping complex je.
Btw, hebat budak2 ni shopping. Sampai lunch pun tak sempat. Kepenatan Ucu tau! (Refer to previous post.) Tapi takde lah tunjuk depan depa yg aku penat, maintain je la. Ucu ni muda lagi ;-). Sib baik lah kasut Crocs ni mmg selesa... not super-comfortable though, just comfortable. Sama je mcm kasut2 jalan aku sblm ni.

Crocs celeste suede ok, not celeste canvas.Apa2 pun... budak2 tu seronok, aku pun seronok. Tired, yet it was fun!

Graduation Day @ KUIS
As I had mentioned in the previous post, my cousins Siti & Isma konvo semalam. Around 5:30pm, aku sampai kat KUIS. 1st time gi KUIS... ada lah sesat skit sbb dtg dari Bangi Lama, konfius dgn jln kat Bdr Seri Putra.
Actually Isma sesi pagi, Siti plak sesi petang. So, Siti masih bergaya dgn jubah... Isma plak dah tak pakai jubah. Tapi seri seorg graduan tu tetap ada wlupun tanpa jubah. Bukan pengantin je ada seri tau, depa yg konvo ni pun berseri-seri je wajah tu.

Tgk org konvo ni, teringin plak nak konvo gak. Seronoknya. Semua nampak happy je. InsyaAllah, my turn for the 2nd time will come. Kat negara orang lagi. Hehee... sudah2 lah tu berangan. Yg penting study dulu bagi lulus. Isk... nervous lah plak.

Setelah lebih kurang 5 tahun berlalu... sekarang... check the previous post. Tak tau nak komen apa. Nak kata comel, mcm tak. Hiksss... aku bukan saje makcik yg kurang prihatin, tapi makcik yg ermm... what's the correct word yer... klu 'jahat' mcm jahat sgt bunyinya. Hehee...
