At last...

Alhamdulillah, I have submitted the assignment. So now, I'm done with the course. I hope I'll pass. Amin.

Actually a few days ago, I dreamt that I passed the course with flying colors. I got 4 ok! A sweet dream indeed. Some say that a reality will turn otherwise. I kinda believe it. But I had the dream after Subuh, so it doesn't count rite. ;-)

Tick Tock

The clock shows nearly 3am. So pardon my bad or might be mixed-up post. Am tired, mostly mentally.

Today I managed to write 6 pages of the PTK assignment. This is what happen when I decide to do the assignment at last minute, I know.

I have a problem with my assignment. The problem affects the flow of my ideas. The assignment should be 8 to 10 pages. I haven't finish doing my assignment, but it's already 12 pages. Actually more, but I have moved some of the infos to appendices. Ok, for the introduction and objectives, I'll just insert a roman number as the page number. So I'm left with 10 pages. But as I said, I haven't finished. I might need at least 2 pages more.

I do believe that rules are made to be bended. However in a competition or test, I do believe that rules are made so that everyone involved got a fair chance. Fair chance to compete each other and to be tested. If you bend or brake it, it means you cheat.

For example, if the assignment needs to be submitted before 10am, you should submit it before 10am then. If you decide to submit afterward because you don't have enough time to finish it the day before, it means you have cheated.

Fine, you got permission from the committee, which you are closed with, so you don't break the rules. This is what I mean by bending the rules. Just ask yourself, is't fair? Do you think you deserve the mark that you'll get for the assignment? How about the others? Do they actually have enough time the day before? Why don't they ask for extra time from the committee? I'll only answer the last question. First, yes they might not be that closed with the committee. Second, they believe in a fair chance/game. But they're certainly not stupid. At least, they managed to submit on time. Most importantly, they got integrity.

Ok, whatever. I need to sleep now.

I have quit going to gym since early of April due to several reasons. One of the reasons is I was/am busy.

Briefly, my weight loss program has failed. I hardly lose weight. But that's certainly not one of the reasons. I know that working out isn't just to lose weight but to remain fit & increase the stamina. So yes, I know that I should keep working out for my own good. I plan to start going back to gym in June, but I guess I'm not ready (also due to several reasons).

Recently I bought these. So at least I have the tools & options to work out at home.

Now I need determination & discipline. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy them. Sigh.

The power of dreams for a dreamer

On Wednesday 12/5, we had a trip to Honda factory at Pegoh for one of our assignment. When the Honda's representative showed a picture of Honda museum in one of the briefing slides, I was like just remembered that I had been to the largest one at Tochigi. Back in 2004...

I just knew that Asimo is not for sale from the briefing. It's a Honda's flagship, showing Honda's dedication in research & technology development. It's a Honda's dream to built a humanoid robot that one day will serve humanity. I like the idea. As we know, technology evolves & it's inspiring to see the evolution at its advanced. Just hoping that if the dream eventually realizes, it won't turn to a terminator that destructs humanity instead.

As for the factory in Msia, I'm impressed to see how organize the factory is. The color of the staff uniform is all white, which I think a very brave choice of color for a factory worker. But it shows that a cleanliness is a serious matter there. There are transparent recycle bins (almost) everywhere. I've never been into any other factory before (except for the industrial training during my undergraduate study), so maybe recycling is a common practice, I don't know.

Well, if you plan to buy a Honda car, just go for it. Now I'm sounding like a Honda promoter. =P

Oppsss motif entry bukan nak citer pasal baju Adira. Sbnrnya motif entry nak eksyen sbb tgk Konsert Akhir AF yg buat pertama kalinya dlm HD =P. Tak caya, cuba tgk bhgn atas belah kanan gambar tu... haaa kan ada tulis 'HD'.

Haruslah terang & jelas kan. Bak kata Sarimah, HD ni sesuai utk muka yang bersih berseri2. Muka mcm Adlin tak boleh blah dlm HD. Kene letak concealer lebih.

Semalam, balik dari Kedah tak sabar2 nak sampai rumah sebab nak layan konsert dlm HD. Rupa2nya channel 124 dok ulang konsert akhir ni. Abis, ulang, abis, ulang. Tu je rancangan yg ada.

I tak follow AF tahun ni. Konsert pun biasanya tgk yg ulangan je. So tak kisah sape yg menang. Tapi dalam tak kisah tu, tak suka Shahir menang sbb tak suka afmasuk. Dah lah nyanyi lagu baru mcm mendatar jer. Memang nak kene belasah dgn peminat Shahir ni. Larik...

On another note, me & my colleague have planned a leisurely holiday on early of July. The hotel room is already booked for 2 nights.

On ramblings and reminiscences

Somehow the recent 5-nights course reminds me to the MSc program. The ordeal (studying, presenting & submitting a report) is quite similar but the pressure is different. During the MSc, I took it as a challenge, but during the course, I felt somewhat fedup. The point is, the environment & the people are different.

Some people do think that others are their competitors rather than comrades & take it very seriously. Some people do believe that they couldn't compete on their own, but need some 'advantages'. Some people do feel that if the chances are equal, they are going to lose.

Well, reminiscing about the days during the MSc program...

Lecture notes. 7 files with different colors indicate 7 subjects per semester. The source of stress.

Bila stress - makan. Sebab ni lah tak kurus-kurus. Naik lagi ada... =P

Having 2 sets of burger for a lunch/dinner with a wide range of appertizers & dessert dishes was normal.

Recess. Sambil menguyah anything yg available dlm fridge, layan online TV...

Tadi lunch, ada ABC. Bestnya ABC buat sendiri, sukati nak letak apa.
Dari tingkap bilik hotel nampak Eye^on^Malacca & laut. Tapi takde snap satu gambar pun.
Jadi sebagai hiasan, amik gambar dari internet.

Our first nuke plant by 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has approved the setting up of a nuclear power plant which is slated to start operations in 2021.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said his ministry had been given the go-ahead by the Economic Council to start identifying suitable sites.

Declining to reveal the possible sites and the total power deliverable, Chin said the nuclear plant needed to be built in an area with high power demand.

“Building of the first plant needs a lead time of at least 10 years. We need to look at the safety aspects, human resources and the location,” he told reporters after launching the first Carbon Neutral Conference on Sustainable Buildings in South-East Asia yesterday.

Chin said the International Atomic Energy Agency had the final say on whether the plant could be built.

“Technology know-how and providers may possibly come from either South Korea, China, France or Japan,” he added.

On the disposal of radioactive nuclear waste, he said the matter would be worked out with the technology provider at a later date.

Chin stressed that a nuclear plant was sorely needed to meet the country’s accelerating energy needs and ensured its energy security.

He pointed out that national energy demand topped out at 14,000 megawatts (MW) out of a maximum capacity of 23,000MW.

“We do not want a situation where we have to start buying our coal from foreign sources. Nuclear energy is the only viable option towards our long-term energy needs.

“Our energy mix is rather unhealthy. We are depending too much on coal and oil,” he said.

Chin stressed that despite nuclear energy’s astronomical start-up costs, it was more cost- and energy-efficient than dotting the country with coal-fired power plants.

“Our renewal energy sector is also very small. It has only a supplementary role,” he said.

On the political fallout from building a nuclear plant, Chin said the Government would be ready to explain it to the people on the need for one.

A proud man in an iron suit

If you check my profile, I did state that one of my favorite movies is Iron Man. So, of course I'm looking forward to watch Iron Man 2.

Watched it yesterday. At 11am, most of the shows of the day were already full. The story is great, not that awesome but still great. Most importantly it's not disappointing. The movie is indeed fictional. So, leave your logical sense at the door. Just relax & enjoy the movie.

Even though I knew that the movie is fictional & illogical, still I googled about miniature arc reactor. Just imagine lots of energy could be generated by that small scale device. Love the part when he built a beam machine to produce a new element. Wow, just by himself in one day ok!

If there's Iron Man 3, certainly I'm gonna watch it.
