Oh Nasi Goreng

Nasi goreng ni aku namakan nasi goreng campak...


Sebabnya campak je bahan² dalam kuali, jadi lah nasi goreng ni. Very easy. Bahan² pun guna leftover yang hari Ahad punya je. Tengok ada nasi sejuk & sambal ayam dalam peti ais, Honey pun dah tido, so sempat lah masak nasi goreng ni before JD balik keje.

Tumis bawang putih & bawang merah, campak cili api, campak garam. Separuh orang ramas dulu nasi dengan garam, tapi aku malas. Pastu campak ayam yang dah dipotong kecil, kemudian campakkan nasi. Gunakan sudip untuk hancurkan nasi yang berkepal. Pecahkan telur dalam nasi tadi, gorenglah sampai telur betul² masak. Siap. Oh takde sayur sebab malas nak potong. Huhuu. Sebenarnya ada je lobak yang dah distim & blend kasar dalam peti ais, Honey punya. Lupa. Kalau teringat, boleh lah campak sekali masuk dalam nasi goreng ni.

Tu pun, masa masak nasi goreng ni terganggu gak sebab Honey tido tak lena. Ada lah dalam 2 kali, tengah² masak, matikan api gi tengok Honey kat hall sebab dengar dia merengek. Kalau biarkan api takut ralit tengok Honey, hangus plak kan.

Walaupun simple, rasanya sedap tau. Hehee puji masakan sendiri. At least menepati lah selera aku. Ni tengok gambar pun, perut jadi lapar.

Crave For A Rainbow

2:50pm, I'm in a conference right now.


As seen in the pic above, so many empty chairs in the hall. It makes me feel obligated to occupy at least one of the chairs. Today is the last day anyway. Tomorrow my routine will be back to normal. Punch in, punch out... 8 to 5.

As usual, meals are provided. So I'm already full now after having free lunch. However somehow tetiba teringin nak makan kek. Not just any cake, but a rainbow-like cake! Terus email the person yang buat birthday cake JD hari tu.

Nampak sedap & ceria kan... tak sabar2 nak makan. But insyaAllah next week baru dapat merasa sebab it takes a week to prepare the cake after placing the order.

Haihhhhh, macam2 nak makan. Typically me. Since being on a diet ni, nafsu makan makin meluap2.

Takoyaki
Masa kat Jepun in 2004, rajin gak masak benda alah ni. Tapi instead of bulat2 macam dalam gambar tu, masak dalam bentuk lempeng. The recipe is simple... takoyaki flour & tako which means octapus. Kat Jepun senang nak dapat sotong kurita. Mince the octapus, mix with the flour, pour some water & kacau lah sampai sebati. Kemudian masak. Mudah saje. I guess this was one of the reason I gained weight during my 6-month stay in Japan.

Resepi Hari Ini

Haih... ketika orang lain bergembira nak dapat bonus, aku plak mood bengang. Mana taknya, transaksi yg sepatutnya dah dibatalkan, tak terbatal lak. Maknanya macam bayar double utk satu barang. Tension. InsyaAllah akan dapat refund. Cuma perlukan kesabaran, masa & sedikit tenaga.

Dah, dah sesi melepaskan perasaan. Ok, resepi yg ingin dikongsi pada hari ini...




Lama dah snap gambar2 ni, tak ingat dari majalah mana. Selamat berbuka puasa! Hampir 9 hari kita berpuasa. Alhamdulillah, masih dikurniakan kesihatan yang baik untuk terus menunaikan ibadah puasa.

Durian

Jumaat lepas makan durian. Mas beli kat tepi jalan.


Makan kat umah mas. Tapi aku makan tak banyak, dalam 4, 5 ulas je.

Hari ni lak ada pesta buah. Free. Banyak gila durian.


Pilih je nak isi kaler kuning, cream, keras, lembik, besar, kecik, semua ada. Memang kalau ikut nafsu, boleh tak berenti makan. Aku pun lost count brp ulas aku makan. Tapi rasanya ada dalam 1 1/2 biji kot. Alhamdulillah, kenyang. Tak payah lunch.

Petang ni ada doa selamat & karnival lak. Ermm... makan lagi walaupun khabarnya cuma bihun.

Updates!

Sekadar gambar hiasan.

Tempoh hari aku lunch di sebuah kafe kecil berwarna putih. The ambiance of the cafe was nice with English touch. However, based on the quality & the quantity of the meal, I'd say the price was ridiculously expensive. Tambahan pula, pilihan untuk makan tengahari/malam adalah terhad. Tidak sesuai untuk pelanggan yang kelaparan yang inginkan hidangan yang enak & menyenyangkan. Setakat lepak, minum air & makan kek lebih sesuai.

 

Malam tadi ke pawagam menonton 'The~Green~Hornet'. Nice movie, a very entertaining one. Biasalah, cerita superhero mesti tak logik. Even if they could suddenly fly, it'd make sense to me. But, a high-end computerized car equipped with a fax machine can't transfer data via USB to internet just doesn't make sense to me. So, I didn't buy the chasing act at the end of the story. But as I said earlier, it's still an entertaining movie.

On the way pegi, jalan agak jam. Dari jauh nampak macam truck... tapi macam kete kebal pun ye gak. Rupa-rupanya...


Kete kebal di atas truck. Ada lah beberapa biji, amik 2 lane belah kanan. Tu yang buat jam tu.

Tiba di hotel pukul 2:30pm. As usual, Fir mesti nak mandi kolam walaupun hampir setiap minggu mandi kolam. Nenek lah kene temankan.


Malam tu, dari rumah Pak Ngah kami ke sini. Dah cerita sikit dalam entry yang lepas. So here's the pics.

I love cruising! But the cruise was a bit slow for my standard. Kalau laju sikit, lagi enjoy. The scenery was nice, dengan lampu-lampu yang berwarna-warni. RM10 for almost 1 hour. Berbaloi.

Esoknya, bersiap-siap untuk ke majlis pertunangan Ema & checked-out hotel.

Lunch time

Lama dah tak letak gambar makanan. Ok, this is my lunch for 2 days in a row - yesterday & today. Cuma sayur jer lain. Malas nak keluar. Gi kantin, bungkus, makan dalam ofis. Badan pun tak penat. Selesai makan, boleh tido sekejap ;-).

On ramblings and reminiscences

Somehow the recent 5-nights course reminds me to the MSc program. The ordeal (studying, presenting & submitting a report) is quite similar but the pressure is different. During the MSc, I took it as a challenge, but during the course, I felt somewhat fedup. The point is, the environment & the people are different.

Some people do think that others are their competitors rather than comrades & take it very seriously. Some people do believe that they couldn't compete on their own, but need some 'advantages'. Some people do feel that if the chances are equal, they are going to lose.

Well, reminiscing about the days during the MSc program...

Lecture notes. 7 files with different colors indicate 7 subjects per semester. The source of stress.

Bila stress - makan. Sebab ni lah tak kurus-kurus. Naik lagi ada... =P

Having 2 sets of burger for a lunch/dinner with a wide range of appertizers & dessert dishes was normal.

Iftar with Family

Ni gambar2 berbuka posa Jumaat lepas... bukan semalam, Jumaat sebelum aku berangkat ke sini. Aku & famili berbuka posa kat Kenny Rogers. Biasa lah aku ni, carik tempat yg dekat dgn umah je.

~2:30pm aku gi Alamanda & book, order siap2 makanan kat Kenny Rogers. Nasib baik gi awal gak, sbb mcm dah nak penuh dah tempahan Kenny Rogers masa tu. Pastu balik lah rumah balik... takde benda pun nak buat kat Alamanda. ~6:40pm datang balik.

Tengok ayam Kenny Rogers ni, rasa teringin lg lah plak. Isk, isk... godaan.

Gendang gendut tali kecapi

Last Sunday Mak held a majlis berbuka puasa attended by close family members. Seperti biasa, Mak masak banyak gila & seperti biasa sedara-mara diwajibkan menapau sebelum balik supaya habis semua makanan.

So, for the whole day (yes, for the 'whole day' indeed... ;-)) I ate nasi impit & kuah kacang, rendang daging & pulut kuning... my favorite dishes on hari raya. Absolutely nothing else but my favorite dishes. Of course, maybe at UK I'll having the same menu... but it won't be the same. They aren't just kuah kacang & rendang daging... Mak's cooking is my favorite, to be specific.

Betul lah kata orang dolu2 yang cipta pantun dua kerat ni...
"Gendang gendut tali kecapi, kenyang perut senang hati."

Juadah berbuka puasa petang ini...

... sambal udang.

Saje je nak buat diri sendiri terliur. Menu lain, masak petang ni... by that time sure dah takde mood nak amik gamba. Yang penting, masih ada mood nak memasak.

Oh yer, saya MC hari ni... kira tak lah teruk sgt demam yek sbb bleh masak sendiri juadah berbuka pose. So, lepas bukak pose, masa untuk makan ubat.

Bestnya, cuaca mendung... sementara tunggu petang, tido jap lah!

Hari yg ditunggu spjg minggu ini... yeay, it's FRIDAY!

Tak tau lah napa, minggu ni rasa macam tak cukup tido. Every morning I wake up, I wish I could get back to sleep & just wake up whenever I feel like to. But still, I managed to get up, go to work & stay at the office from 8 to 5. At last, esok cuti! Yeehaaaa!!!

Well, it has been an ordinary weekdays. D is away for another site visit on Monday. On Tuesday, me, Shelly & Saira went to Alamanda right after office hour to watch "Hancock" at 5:50pm & had dinner at Sushi King. We ate, chatted & laughed. It was fun. We even got 10% discount at Sushi King, well... that's nothing if you're a member & your card's not expired... but Shelly's card's already expired & Saira didn't bring hers... so, that's something ;-).

Btw, "Hancock" is a great funny movie. I give it 4 stars. Tp ramai gak yg tak suka citer ni. I think those who don't like the movie actually lack sense of humor :-P. Ok, there are many illogical things in the movie, we don't even know the Hancock's real name but it's funny & entertaining... even the scene where Hancock in a group therapy session is funny. I like Will Smith's performance as Hancock & no one is more suitable to play the main actress character than the beautiful Charlize Theron.

On Wednesday, I slept early which was at 10:30pm. There's no new CSI Las Vegas to watch, so I guess I better sleep earlier & be fresher the next morning. I did feel a lil bit fresher on Thursday morning. After getting back from work, I watched SATC Season 4 & tried to finish it. I did.

I planned to renew my passport on Friday & start applying visa online. Since it takes only several hours which is 2 hours to be exact to get the new passport, so I thought it'd be the best if I go to Immigration Dept at Putrajaya where I can go home while waiting for the passport to be renewed. At ~12:00pm, I arrived at the Immigration Dept & I could feel something wasn't right... so, I went directly to the counter & asked whether it's applicable to renew the passport there. The answer is no. The nearest branch to renew the passport is Kajang which I already knew. So, my plan had failed, I drove home & took a nap for about 1 & 1/2 hours.

Well, I'll go to Kajang this Monday & renew my passport. I have registered for online visa application... so many questions... why do you choose UK, why do you choose the course, the institution, how it will benefit you, what do you plan to do afterwards, hours per week of your course (which I don't have the information)... bla, bla, bla... I hate fill in the form even a simple one but I'll try my best to finish completing this form by next week.

Oh yea, before I went to Putrajaya to renew my passport, Catz had sent chocolate cake to our office. Tarra......

It's delicious & well decorated I'd say. The recipe is here. 5 stars for your home-made chocolate cake, Catz. TQ! Tapi aku makan cikit je... :-(

Actually, I planned to watch "Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D" which is only available at GSC MidValley (the only that I'm aware of) with Saira & Shelly on Saturday but since I couldn't reserved the tixs, I guess the plan has to be canceled. I can purchase the tixs online, there are many empty seats as I checked it on Thursday but since the tix is quite expensive which is RM17 including the 3D glasses & I myself can't confirm my availability & mood to go to MidValley tomorrow, so purchasing the tixs isn't wise.

Ok, that's it for my weekdays this week. Thank God it's Friday! :-D

Lunch at Chelos

This is the first time I dined there. Went with Saira... we are supposed to be on diet after invested on Melilea, but somehow our stomachs are still refuse to settle only with the grass organic drinks. Well, maybe we won't lose weight after all, but still we'll be healthier hopefully... healthier without quotation mark ok.

Btw back to our lunch, Saira had nasi campur while I had mee goreng mamak. The service is quite slow... lambat gak lah nak sampai mee goreng mamak tu. The mee goreng mamak is quite oily & it's fried with grinded nut... maybe nak bg rasa crunchy kot... but I don't like the taste of nuts in fried mee. Overall, the mee goreng mamak is ok... cukup lah rasa garam dgn kicap & the lauk for nasi campur look tasteful too. However, mee goreng mamak I had at KopiClub in Low Yat Plaza is better. So, here's what I ate for lunch today...

Last night, we celebrated Mother's Day at Secret Recipe, Alamanda. Nothing much, just makan-makan session. It's the thought that counts, right... sambut awal sikit since Mak might go to Johor this weekend.

Another mission... but not another frustration

This time, the mission is accomplished... I'd say successfully.

Went to Low Yat Plaza yesterday, hunting for a leather case for my PDA phone and external hard disk. For external hard disk, I already aimed for Buffalo MiniStation 160GB. I also had other brand of external hard disk in mind, but chose this one because the chassis design is shock resistant. However, as the salesperson told me, don't drop it on purpose. Who's gonna do that anyway? Hehee... do I look like someone who is naive and will do the experiment by dropping it just because it claims to be shock resistant? I got it for just RM300. This is one of the items that I've targeted to buy before furthering study at UK this September... (still it hards to believe that I'm really going).

Btw, I've already got the offers to four universities - Newcastle, Southampton, Bristol and Imperial College, except Liverpool... can you believe that? If I don't get the offer to Liverpool University by May, I'll accept Bristol's offer... and there I'll go in September... (gosh... just thinking about it make me nervous).

I did also buy other things... leather case (check out Saira's post... I've bought exactly the same) and external speaker for iPod. Actually, instead of the black case, I was interested to buy a blue one tp satu jer yg tinggal, buruk lak tu. Hehee... like I'm gonna use the iPod anyway... I'm still in love with my Samsung MP3 player. But well, just in case if I do use the iPod one day... (kesian, beli tp tak guna).

I had my lunch at KopiClub, one of the restaurant in Low Yat... my brunch to be exact since I didn't had breakfast. I had Mee Goreng Mamak and Ice Honey Lemon as the beverage. The mee goreng mamak didn't really look and taste like it supposed to (suppose it looks and tastes like mee goreng mamak la kan), but still it was delicious... at least for someone who was really hungry. But yes, the taste was good... despite me being famished.

Raspberry Cheesecake... I told Saira that I don't have specific favorite cake at SR... but think bout it again, I think this is one of my fav. Actually, I just had this cake a week ago... but I just couldn't resist it this time.
