Sah

Been waiting for this since October. Finally received the invitation for the ceremony that will be held on Friday 31/1 on Thursday morning, London time. So of course I couldn't attend the ceremony since I was  in London.

Takpe lah, tak penting pun majlis penyampaian ke apa. Yang penting, alhamdulillah dah sah. Tarikh surat 14/1... Tengok how backdated it is. Pun tak pe. Yang penting, alhamdulillah dah sah. 😁💃🏻.

By the way, baru ambil surat ni Selasa lepas. Tu pun nasib baik teringat. ☺️

Actually kalau dapat bulan 12 tahun lepas ke, boleh lah termasuk dalam 2019 highlights. Walaupun dah 2020, kira aci lah ya sebab backdated.

Khusnul Khotimah

ELPA

Alhamdulillah, done English test in order to fulfill the requirements to further PhD under HLP.

For me, it wasn't that hard. Just as I described in my IG, for writing & reading, it was intense since the given time was short or just enough. I didn't have a problem in reading cos I guess I am a fast reader. But for writing, the time is barely enough to actually produce a good report. I could eloborate more on certain part but I needed to pass it in order to ensure I could finish the  whole report. Luckily, we only needed to write a report for 45 minutes. No letter writing. Thank God... My hand was already tired writing the report as fast as I could.

Today, I took the speaking test... The final module.

What a drama... On my way to Putrajaya, the secretariat called me asking where I was & told me that my session would be earlier. My session originally would be at 11:05am. But he didn't tell me actually I was moved to other group & the session supposed to start at 9:40. Maybe he realized it was his mistake not to inform me earlier & didn't want me to panic. I arrived at 10. I did plan to arrive an hour earlier in case I'd face difficulty in finding a parking spot, had ample time to relax & prepared in the waiting room.

So my group had been given a topic titled "Children & Gadgets". An easy one compare to other topics.

Alhamdulillah everything went well. It wasn't hard to find a parking space. The examiner for the speaking test was very nice, so I felt less nervous.

It just that for this kind of speaking test where 4 strangers need to engage in a discussion, I had to remind myself to be polite & don't ever interrupt. I didn't know about other group. But all the ladies in my group were nice & sweet. We respected opinions of each other & had a very harmonious discussion, I'd say.

So ELPA is done. I'm pretty sure I'll pass. Alhamdulillah.

It's time to pack for London! Another adventure that is related to my PhD journey.

Last year was great

Alhamdulillah.

Summary on why last year was great...

✔️ Finally achieved my target saving 💰. Not easy sebab macam² hal. Beli kereta lah, itu lah ini lah tapi somehow tercapai juga.

✔️ Akhirnya azam bertahun² nak kurus berjaya 💃🏻. Managed to reach 55.2kg just before Ramadhan from 67kg. Tapi la ni dah naik 4kg gak. Huhuu... Nak kene start balik diet seriously sebelum cecah 60kg balik.

✔️ I got HLP to further PhD this year. InshaaAllah, I'm planning to start on September. Next week, on Monday & Thursday ada exam BI. Actually this one deserves a dedicated post. Memang tak sangka sebab tak dirancang pun.

✔️ Me & JD bought another house. Ni pun patut buat post sebab bukan senang kitorang nak capai keputusan ni. Berminggu gak pening kepala... Macam takde keje... Huhuu.

Health, family & friends semuanya OK. Ni yang paling penting kan... Kesihatan & orang² di sekeliling kita yang baik. So even if I didn't achieved or got those above, last year was still great. Oh ya cuma my MIL ada masalah sikit. Hopefully she'll recover soon.

Other than that...

» Setelah 12 tahun, decided to make over the hall. So beli sofa baru - recliner sofa & sofa bed. In love with the recliner sofa. So relaxing lying on it. Sampai rasa dah takde mood pergi bercuti ke hotel since duduk rumah sendiri dah relax gila.

» Beli steam iron idaman. Memang berbaloi sangat sesuai dengan harga. Tak menyesal lah walaupun untuk iron kategori mahal gila.

» Sempat buat jamuan raya tahun lepas. Ad hoc. Order makanan 2 hari sebelum hari majlis. Jemputan tak ramai so I'd say it was an intimate gathering among close families & friends.

» JD menang motor sebab masuk peraduan di Mitsui. Motor tu pun dah jual.

» Last year banyak makan² sessions with friends. Patutlah susah nak 'mengurus' pas raya.

» Beli cermin mata multi-focus since rasa macam handicapped plak bila setiap kali nak tengok dekat kene bukak glasses. Tetiba terbelanja seribu lebih for this sebab ter-decide to buy the 2nd best option of multifocus lens brand Hoya.

» My niece, Nurul bertunang. Sempat pasang aircond kat rumah mak sebelum hari majlis yang tak berapa dirancang tu. Actually memang dah lama terfikir nak pasang aircond kat rumah Mak.

» Buy a new laptop. Masa beli takde perasaan sangat sebab just rasa perlu beli untuk PhD. Tapi bila dah main² jatuh cinta plak dengan laptop tu. Ringan & laju. So, I've made the right choice. Rambang mata gak nak beli laptop yang mana satu.

Hello 2020

Let's recap what had happened in 2019.

Alhamdulillah, as I mentioned in my previous post, 2019 has been good to me.

Ok kita mulakan yang tak best dulu.

I had been criticised badly by the top management & students, for 2 different reasons of course.

On my defend, I believe I had delivered a pretty good job. Not excellent maybe, but at least OK. To be honest the criticisms kinda demoralising.

Well I guess it's part of Allah's test to see how patient & positive I am. Cakap memang senang kan... Now it's actually the time to practice what I believe. Always be positive. Tak kisah apa pun orang kata. Be patient. Just do anything for the sake of Allah. Bukan untuk dapatkan penghargaan manusia. So it's ok. Teruskan je buat kerja bersungguh-sungguh & try to deliver the best lillahita'ala. InshaaAllah 💪😁. Most importantly, Allah knows your effort & that's what counts.

Ok lah, tu je nak highlight pasal yang tak best. Both actually regarding to work.
