What a discovery!

Less hassle wearing contact lens as now, I have found a way to clean the lens automatically & apply them to my eyes without using my hand/fingers. Yay! I guess I can say goodbye to glasses for now & hello to a pair of big sunglasses. ;-) Tgh jakun ni... hehee...

KUALA LUMPUR 29 Ogos _ Kakitangan kerajaan akan menerima bonus sebulan gaji atau minimum RM1,000 yang akan dibayar dua kali.

Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi berkata, bonus itu akan dibayar pada September dan Disember.

"Kerajaan menghargai peningkatan produktiviti dan sumbangan kakitangan sektor awam kepada pembangunan negara," katanya. - Utusan

Alhamdulillah... ada extra rezeki tahun ni. Tp saya suka nak mencadangkn kpd Pak Lah, mana lah tau klu Pak Lah termelawat blog ni... apa kata diadakan bonus maksimum... RM5000 ke... bonus minimum plak dinaikkan jd sekurang2nya RM2000. Takpun, semua dapat RM5000. Bukankah kita perlu membantu golongan yg lebih memerlukan?

Yg gaji atas RM5000 tu sure tak puas hati yek... sbb gaji aku bwh RM5000 lah aku mncdgkn sedemikian rupa... hikss. Tp aku hanya lah rakyat marhain yg takde apa2 kuasa pun nak execute the plan, just a suggestion... so tak perlu perarakan utk membantah k. ;-)

Yahooo! Internet dah ada. Menurut kedai mamak kat umah aku ni, sbnrnya internet dah ada sejak smlm lepas pukul 12am. Now, I'm back in the game... internet surfing.

I'm writing this offline. The Steamyx at my area fails to connect to Internet due to the cable putus kot since yesterday & needs 2 days to be repaired.

I'm not really pissed-off. I'm feeling kinda sick. I have a nasty cough & sore throat. No fever, luckily. But the cough & sore throat are enough to make me feeling uncomfortable even in my sleep. So, I'm not really in the mood to even feeling pissed-off over the Steamyx besides I'm not desperate to get connected to Internet... for now.

Tp pelikkan, this kind of service pun ada. Oh yer, tahun ni tahun ke-51 kemerdekaan. Spt tahun lepas, sekali-sekala kedengaran dentuman bunga api drp Pertandingan Bunga Api Antarabangsa & boleh lah nmpk sikit dr rumah aku bunga api bertaburan d langit.

Btw, we have quite lots of DVD that we haven't watch. However, D suggested we watch The Bourne Identity that we had already watched before. I had been planning to re-run Bourne Trilogy, so D's suggestion to watch Bourne is agreeable. Tonight, we plan to watch the 2nd one, The Bourne Supremacy.

Ok la, it's DVD time! Yeah Bourne time!

There's still no internet... so, I'm still writing this offline. Pinda tarikh lagi... 29hb plak dijangka siap. Seems like this "No Internet" post-series will have quite lots of episode.

Btw, we've finished re-watching Bourne Trilogy. I'd vote Jason Bourne as the coolest action hero!

Back to the internet subject, I'd like to use wireless broadband but I'm living somewhere at ulu with no 3G. I have tested Celcom Broadband before, the internet was so slow using GPRS. So, I guess I just have to settle with Steamyx, the best of the worst. However, due to this problem I don't think Steamyx deserves the title. It's not the best after all, not even among the worst.

No Internet: Episode 2

Patutnya ptg ni aku duduk di dewan, tekun mndgr pembentangan. Tp, since masa begitu mencemburui aku ketika ini... cewahhh... aku pun tak senang duduk di dalam dewan tu memikirkan keje2 di ofis yg belum siap. Sori Boss, I think completing the current projects lg penting kan. Less than 2 weeks left & being myself, I work better under pressure. I focus more & no lazy2.

Cite pasal takde internet, bengang gak lah dgn Steamyx ni. Tp aku dah tanya, bleh dpt rebate tak... org Steamyx jwb boleh. So, ok lah... mistake happens kan. Nak bengang2 pun tak guna.

Just imagine dr hari Jumaat balik keje aku notis takde... sampai lah ke hari ini. Masa weekend tu, ntah brp kali aku call 100 tanya pasal status. Yg buat aku tambah bengang sbb staff TM Nut tu bg info yg berbeza. So, ada lah staff yg kene lecture dgn aku.

Ada masalah kabel... patutnya siap 24hb 12:30pm. Tp tak siap2 gak.

Semalam I was a lil bit panic bila tgk internet still takde & nak call 100... angkat tepon, no dial tone! Alamak... nasib aku ni ala2 sudah jatuh ditimpa tangga ke? Steamyx dah elok, land line plak buat hal? Btw, b4 this land line aku mmg penah rosak... so, takut lah klu rosak lg. I called 100 using hp. Ermmm... rupanya mmg tepon pun dah takde. Mcm besar kan masalahnya.

Now, tepon umah tak berfungsi, internet connection pun takde. Bak kata Catz, ada lah gak rasa mcm duduk dlm gua... hiks. Cuma gua ni ada set home theater... hehee. So, life without internet is still bearable.

Bowling Olympics?

Perlawanan bowling ini telah diadakan pada hari Selasa, 19 Ogos iaitu semalam, malangnya bukan di Beijing ttp hanya di Mines Shopping Fair... dari segi design bangunan lebih kurang lah kan mcm kat China.

Next time, klu ada rezeki kita main lg yek. Agaknya bila la tu. Yg ni pun aku gamble je bwk 5 org budak dlm 1 kete, maknanya 4 org dok belakang. Tak sampai hati plak nak tinggalkn yg paling kecik... wlupun muda compare to others, dia pun ada perasaan gak kan. Aku pk klu tetiba ada road block & polis nak saman semata2 4 budak kat belakang, aku suruh jer yg paling kecik tu kuar... mintak polis tu anta balik... mau meraung budak tu. Masa tu pandai2 lah polis tu nak pujuk.

Pas main bowling, xtvt shopping. Pkul 1.45pm, tgk wayang, citer Wallllllllllll Eeeee.

La ni aku takde mood nak buat review filem. Before this tgk cite Dark Night & SATC: The Movie pun takde mood nak review. Bukannya movie2 ni tak best atau tak berkesan.

Eh, tetiba ada mood plak nak buat review filem. Wall-E - cite ni amat sesuai ditayangkan pada Hari Bumi sebagai tayangan amal. Filem yg amat bermesej. Tak cukup kelakar... membuatkan aku tak sabar2 nak tgk Ice Age 3. Silap aku gak... entered the cinema with high expectation based on reviews at CinemaOnline. 3 bintang.

Dark Night - "Why so serious?" soalan Joker yg mendebarkn. Aku takut dia toreh mulut org tu dgn pisau je. Filem ni berjaya buat aku tak senang duduk. Cuma lupa-dah-nama-dia jadi Two-Faced quite lame la. 4 bintang.

SATC: The Movie - drama or chick flick yg kira best gak lah. ~180 minit yg tidak membosankan. Bergenang gak air mata tgk the gentle Charlotte yelled at Mr. Big for Carrie's sake & how Miranda struggled to mend her marriage. Tp knp yek Miranda's marriage problem mcm tak besar jer berbanding masalah Carrie? Is't the disadvantage of being independent for Miranda & advantage for being dependent for Carrie? I don't expect any answer, just something to ponder. 3 1/2 bintang... errr... 4 bintang. Between that la.

Ok, back to the original topic, pas tgk wayang, continue shopping. Inilah xtvt cuti sekolah urban style... spend dlm shopping complex je.

Btw, hebat budak2 ni shopping. Sampai lunch pun tak sempat. Kepenatan Ucu tau! (Refer to previous post.) Tapi takde lah tunjuk depan depa yg aku penat, maintain je la. Ucu ni muda lagi ;-). Sib baik lah kasut Crocs ni mmg selesa... not super-comfortable though, just comfortable. Sama je mcm kasut2 jalan aku sblm ni.

Too tired to think of a title

Penat + ngantuk giler!

Camna ni? I'm not even fit to layan budak2 shopping. Pusing satu shopping complex, naik turun escalator, keluar masuk kedai... ni camna nak survive being a student without a transport? Teringat dulu2 masa muda remaja, berjalan kaki dr kolej ke dewan kuliah merentas padang. No sweat. Huhuu... aku dah tak berapa muda... cannot stay like this la. Nak kene start buat exercise ni.

Quite a hectic Saturday morning

I woke up at 6:15am & prepared myself to meet Catz at Petronas near Alamanda & drove straightaway to KLIA. Around 8am, we arrived at KLIA & met Saira who 'happily' covered her nervousness. About tomorrow, she'll be in US & start her new life as a student abroad. Aku pun tumpang nerves gak.

After Saira checking-in, having a lil chit-chat & snapping photos, we said our farewells (All the best to you & take care. Rajin2 lah YM/Skype, email & update blog k!) & rushed back to Putrajaya since Catz had a class at 9:00am. However, we couldn't make it on time... sampai kat Petronas where Catz parked her car dah pkul 9am. Kira lewat lah Catz gi kelas hari ni. (More stories from Catz here.)

Sampai kat umah, tunggu D bersiap. Pukul 10am, kuar umah. Singgah Petronas tepi highway to withdraw some money & bought Dunkin Donut for breakfast. Makan donut tu dlm kete je. D dropped me at MidValley while he went to Plaza Sentral where Qatar Airways office is located to pay RM50 as penalty for the departure date amendment.

Aku pun memulakan misi mencari kasut. Jalan lah dlm MidValley tu, tp kat ground & first floor je. At last, I bought 2 pairs of shoes - Crocs celeste suede kaler coklat & Hush Puppies. Beli Crocs dulu, terus pakai. Tak sabar2 nak merasai the super-comfortableness of the shoes. Masa pilih kasut kat Hush Puppies, D dtg & I asked him for his opinion. To my surprise, dia kata kasut yg aku tgh pakai tu which is Crocs lawa. I thought he'd say that the shoe is ugly as we know that Crocs design is not so attractive. Bukan D je kata lawa, even the staff kat Hush Puppies tu pun kata kasut Crocs tu lawa. Hehee... as for me, aku beli bukan sbb rasa lawa, sbb dah lama nak kasut Crocs cuma selama ni my size & the color that I want tak available.

Pukul 12:30pm lebih, we went home. Tak dapat nak lunch kat MidValley sebab org nak betulkan cooker hood will be coming. Tapi perut lapar, so singgah drive-thru McD & bought 2 sets ayam spicy. The guy called D & said that he was on the way to our house from Puchong. Since he wasn't sure about the location of our house, we waited for him near PICC sambil makan ayam McD.

Broken

The tiles suddenly fell to the floor & broke.

I'm so frustrated over the broken tiles. My kitchen supposed to look just nice even not elegant but now it looks hideous. I'm not in the mood to enter the kitchen apa lagi nak memasak.

Am I making a big deal over a small thing? I don't care. I just want my kitchen tabletop to be fixed. I want my nice kitchen back. End of story.

Gabra

Pagi td aku diserang gabra bila dapat emel dr UoL berkenaan dgn registration/induction. Ada dua info, satu secara am & satu lg dr Electronics Dept. Bila belek info dr dept, ternampak plak tarikh exam.

Huhuu... the 1st semester exam will be on Jan 12, 09... rite after Christmas holiday which I'll have a very special guest from Msia. Got to remind myself, strictly no last-minute study so that I can really enjoy the holiday. Belum apa2 lg dah gabra kn...

Lama giler dah tak exam betul2... kali terakhir exam masa kursus BTN, tp tu tak kira sbb baca pun sepintas lalu & mana yg sempat je. Tak dpt byngkn menelaah pelajaran bersungguh2. In fact, I cannot imagine myself as a student... & a hardworking one!

Tp yg ni exam betul2, menentukn sama ada aku dpt Master atau tak... klu tak lulus, kene re-sit. Kene extend study. Huwaaa... tak dpt balik Msia. Gabranya. I should have know better lah kan since I'm the one who chose to further study abroad & by course.

Ptg td Saira dtg ofis... since dia fly Sabtu ni, mmg terserlah ke'gabra'an dia. Well, as she said even though how much she feels that she doesn't want or ready to go rite now, it's too late to back off. Klu bleh sekalipun, nanti apa kata boss?? Tu lah dilema pekerja yg cemerlang mcm kitorg ni. Isk...

I believe everything happens for a reason. God knows best. I strongly believe you can do it, Saira. Two years later or maybe more... (I mean it with a good reason) you'll be back & happiliy bragging about your experience studying in US ;-). Believe me... hehee...

& I'm also trying to believe in myself.

To-Do-List for 2 months - Updated #1

Update on To-Do-List for 2 months

It's less than 2 months until I'm going to Liverpool!

I feel numb rite now. I don't feel anything... which is good for me I guess. Worried a lil bit since there are still a few things that I need to settle.

The important one...
- Renew passport.
- Photograph for visa.
- Apply visa online.
- Schedule the appointment.
- Pay visa application fee of RM664.
- Book online Meet & Greet session.

Semua di atas dah selesai. Ok, I already got my visa & flight ticket. I have booked the Meet & Greet session. I have received emails from the Accommodation Office that I can collect the room keys on Sept 21 before 4:45pm. So, I think everything is good.

Other important things...
- Repair laptop's DVD drive. It doesn't seem important anymore because I already bought a new laptop.
- Fix PDA phone (ada bug). At last, tangguh punya tangguh hantar gak hp ni (related post).

Related to work...
- Software for online area monitoring. Nak launch plak tu... isk.
- Wireless detector.
- Borang serah tugas.
- Dosia 2008.
- Clear the office... huhuu.

Ermmm... mau tak mau, mesti siap gak semua ni. Tp, lately I'm having a hard time to focus on work. Mentally, ni mesti nak tunggu last minute gak ni.

Things to buy...
- Walking shoes. I don't know what my problem is... so far tak jupe pun yg berkenan.
- New backpack? Dengan beg laptop baru & I already have a backpack, don't think I need a new one. Tp, klu terjupe yg menarik, bleh lah consider.
- New laptop? Yes! Absolutely.

Additional things to do/buy...
- Contact several people regarding a few things.
- New glasses.


Oh yer, there's an update on Last Week News too...

D is going to Liverpool on December 20...
instead of 23. D had called Qatar Airways office in KL today & changed departure date of the plane tixs. So, D'll come earlier & I'm happy. :-)

Juadah berbuka puasa petang ini...

... sambal udang.

Saje je nak buat diri sendiri terliur. Menu lain, masak petang ni... by that time sure dah takde mood nak amik gamba. Yang penting, masih ada mood nak memasak.

Oh yer, saya MC hari ni... kira tak lah teruk sgt demam yek sbb bleh masak sendiri juadah berbuka pose. So, lepas bukak pose, masa untuk makan ubat.

Bestnya, cuaca mendung... sementara tunggu petang, tido jap lah!

Drama Begins. Action!

After using a pda phone for quite a while, I've decided to switch to this Nokia hp...

Acah je tu!

It's a spare hp actually sementara tunggu pda phone ku itu siap dibaiki.

However, to get this spare hp, I had to go thru quite a drama.

I had to bebel to one of the staffs who works at the outlet in Alamanda. Pot pet, pot pet... tak kan company hp besar camni pun tak provide hp spare... kedai hp kecik pun bg hp spare tau klu anta hp rosak. (Kira sia2 je aku terbeli pda phone ni kat one of the outlets dgn harga yg lebih mahal drp kedai hp biasa.) Staff tu pun cakap nanti dia try carik hp spare. Klu ada, dia akan tepon.

Sbnrnya, yg buat aku bengang mula2 tu sbb the staff mcm takde perasaan bila dgn konfidennya bgtau no spare hp & klu nak cpt, anta sendiri kat HTC. Dah kene bebel dgn aku, baru nmpk mcm ada perasaan.

Keesokan harinya, since I wasn't convinced by the staff's words & I did think that I need to complain officially to the company, I entered the website & sent a complaint email. Aku rasa mcm dah best dah aku karang emel komplen tu. Kaw kaw gak lah aku kutuk tegur hanya kerana dia tak provide hp spare... hiksss... kira masalah besar lah kn. Camna aku nak call org nanti? Lgpun, kedai hp biasa mmg provide hp spare (am speaking from experience k... the same model of pda phone but different bug)... tu yg buat aku tak puas ati tu.

Sayangnya, Yahoo wasn't able to deliver the complaint email because the address isn't a valid one. So, I called the on-line support phone number & asked for a valid email address. Since there's no email address, I had to complain on the phone. Pot pet, pot pet lg lah aku. Nasib baik pompuan yg jwb call tu ok.

As a result, I got a phone call about one & a half hours later telling me that now they can provide me with a spare hp while my pda phone is being fixed at the service center.

So, lepas keje ptg td, aku gi Alamanda, hantar tepon utk dibaiki & happily went home with the spare hp.

Well, the drama has ended with a happy ending after all... :-)


Moral of the story: If you pissed-off, mad or unsatisfied with somebody, cakappp... cakappp... (ala2 Ahmad Nisfu dlm Seniman Bujang Lapok). Some say that silence is golden. In a certain situation, yes. Silence can put aside a problem but silence won't solve the problem. ;-)

Visa Application Approved

I'd say that the application had been approved & the visa had been issued without too much hassle. Just fill-in & submit the form online, print the completed form, schedule the appointment & submit the printed copy of the form to UK Visa Office in Wisma MCA following the appointment date & time. Don't forget to pay RM664 for processing fee. Oh yer, jgn lupa gambar mengikut spesifikasi yg dikehendaki & semua dokumen yg diperlukan termasuk the original copies.

Bila dah siap, pegi lah Wisma MCA & collect your passport with all your original documents. Mudah kan. Yg susah skit masa nak isi borang je sbb byk sgt soalan. If you don't have the information to the question, isi jer "Not known". Ni pun setelah aku tanya member aku... klu tak pening gak kepala sbb tak tau nak isi apa... lagi2 aku ni mmg sedia ada lembap bab2 isi borang ni.

Yg penting visa dah siap. So I can enter UK legally as a more than 6-months student. Tp visa aku betul2 ikut offer letter... so only valid for 1 year. I do hope by 1 year, I'll be back in M'sia. I really, really hope so.


Expected Date of Departed Confirmed

Flight ticket dah dpt. I'll be going to on Sept 20 at 11:40pm by MAS. Dijangka sampai kat London Heathrow Airport pukul 5:50am Sept 21, waktu UK yek. Pastu naik plak British Airways pkul 10:50am & sampai kat Manchester Airport at 11:45am.

Sampai kat Manchester Airport, Meet & Greet service arranged by the University will meet me & pick me up... to my room at the residence hall, Melville Grove I hope. Actually I don't know what will happen after that & what to expect. I get butterflies in my stomach just by imagining it.


D Is Going To Liverpool On December

Kupu-kupu yg berterbangan di dalam perut aku berkurang skit bila D dah beli tiket flight to Manchester. D will be coming on Dec 23! So, I'd see a very familiar face after staying in UK for 3 months. D will be staying for 2 weeks & leaving me [:-(] on Jan 5 '09. Beli tiket cepat2 sbb takut nanti harga naik... mmg dah naik pun skit masa beli tu.

Setelah survey bbrp airlines on Internet, we find out Qatar Airways offers the best price to Manchester. From KLIA, the flight will stop at Doha & continue the journey to Manchester. Then, I'll pick D up at Manchester Airport which is around 45 minutes from Liverpool.

Klu terbang by Gulf Air & turun kat London lg murah. Tp kos transportation from London to Liverpool tak tau plak brp... so lg senang lah turun kat Manchester. Dekat skit, aku nak amik pun senang. Yer kawan2 & sedara-mara semua, klu rasa nak lawat aku, aku galakkn amik flight sampai Manchester ok. Lagi baik klu sampai Liverpool terus... tp kat Liverpool bukan international airport. Hope to see other familiar faces there.

Back to the news, it means although we're apart but still me & JD are gonna celebrate New Year '09 & my birthday together! Kat UK lg. Bestnyer! InsyaAllah...

Last night, pas Maghrib, dari Keramat we went to The Gardens dgn satu matlamat mencari beg gin & Jacqie... bukan satu tetapi dua!

Laptop bag...

& tote bag...

Dlm internet ada sale for both bags, 40% & 50% respectively. Katanya the prices stated are only available for online purchase. So, klu kat Isetan takde sale tu, better aku order online je. Turns out, the sale is applicable offline too. So, I bought both bags. Dua2 aku nak bwk gi UK nanti. Ye ye ar jer kan. Sonok, sonok... at least I bought these bags with good reason & lepas gian nak beli handbag (the main reason!). Hikss...

Beg gin & Jacqie ni tak lah mahal sgt... dgn diskaun yg ada, lg lah tak mahal. D pun kata murah. I'm a smart buyer & am ready to go to the class. Ciao!
