7 Weird/Random Facts About Me

I've been tagged by Mimi & Saira. TQ for tagging me! So here's the list of 7 weird/random facts about me...

1. I have a fear of snakes. I might faint at the sight of snake near me.

2. The same unfortunate incident always happens to me twice... feel like I've been cursed.

3. My favorite fish is ikan bilis & my favorite dish is 'sambal tumis cili api ikan bilis' cooked by Mak.

4. I eat corn, popcorn & corn-in-a-cup but I don't eat corn that been added in nasi goreng, apam balik etc. I love durian, but I don't like pengat durian & tempoyak.

5. My ears are quite sensitive. Even the slightest sound of an open door or foot steps will make me wake up from my sleep. Sometimes I can hear myself snoring & I'll wake up to the sound.

6. I frequently don't have any idea on what to surf on internet & I don't use torrent or other peer-to-peer softwares. My only routine on internet is checking my emails. Luckily, I do blog... tu pun selalu bersawang... kan...

7. Fine, my nickname is Purple... but purple is not one of my favorite colors. Gray is one of my favorite colors (so, stop complaining the gray background... hikss...). Then, why 'purple'? It's a longgggg story. ;-)

Do I have to tag anyone? But I have no one to tag! Uhuksss... (Duh whatever...)

MC & went to wet market...

I think my flu was becoming worse... the mucus was getting thick & when I blew it out from my nose, my head hurt... my head felt heavy & uncomfortable. But it wasn't so bad compares to the last time I suffered from flu where I got to have tissue with me all the time. However, selsema ni rasa teruk skit masa kat ofis jer... klu kat umah quite ok la. Maybe due to the air-cond or aku yg ngengada. :-P

Coincidently, Mak gave me a call on Thursday morning asked me to bring her to her favorite clinic at Kajang. So alang2, aku pun cuba try test seeing the doctor... hahaa dpt MC! But she prescribed me ubat selsema yg ngantuk. Got to consume the medicine 3 times a day. Hasilnya mmg aku ngantuk for the whole day.

After going to clinic & having breakfast, we went to wet market. Actually the purpose of this post is to show the pics that I had curi2 snapped at the wet market using my hp. Tak lah cantik pun... but since I dah curi2 snap, rasa harus letak kat sini.

Beli ketam & ikan kerapu... (kerapu kot nama ikan sblh ketam tu)

Don't forget vegetables for balance diet...

Medical check-up & so on...

Yesterday, went to KK Bangi... buat medical check-up. The process was quite confusing. Sempatlah aku explain kat bbrp org bakal student U (eh, aku pun bakal student U gak. Mcm tak caya jer...) what they should do after taking the number. Kalau tak, terpinga2 lah depa lepas amik nombor. Nasib baik terbawak surat tawaran (actually ada dlm keter), klu tak... tak bleh proceed the medical check-up process i.e. taking x-ray & urine sampling... otherwise klu nak proceed gak got to pay ~RM180. Since there's offer letter from JPA, so free lah medical check-up ni. The day before yesterday, went to JPA to take affidavit letter for visa application. I should start making the online application now but I'm so not in the mood to start. Apa hal malas sgt ni. Btw, this Tuesday kene pegi KK Bangi lagi to do other test. I'll be getting the result of the medical check-up on July 4. Lama kan... so for those yg nak buat medical check-up for free, you better hurry. Tak sempat karang... terpaksa lah bayar kat private. I need the money instead to buy a new pair of walking shoes.

My sneakers/walking shoes

Takde lah istimewa apa pun kasut ni sampai nak ada post khas... cuma I just found out today kasut ni dah hilang. Hampeh punya pencuri... ntah2 aku yg misplace. Tp serius lah, aku tak ingat aku letak/campak mana kasut ni. Kali terakhir pakai pun dah hilang dari memori aku. Tp aku yakin ianya dicuri. Yer lah, rumah aku ni bukannya besar sgt... klu kasut ni main sorok2 pun, gerenti jumpa. Kasut ni bukan lah baru beli, tp elok lg & selesa sgt. Kaki aku ni manja skit, payah nak carik kasut yg selesa giler. Nampaknya kene lah survey & beli walking shoes baru utk gi Liverpool nanti. Sabar jer lah... :-/

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

4/5 stars!
Category: Movies
Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy

The genre is better described as Kids & Family, Fantasy and Adventure.

I like the movie, it's very entertaining for me. Suitable for grown-up kids alright, Narnia is well pictured as a beautiful fantasy world, but a more savage place this time & an adventure to spice it up. Just sit down, relax, eat popcorns & you'll enjoy the movie. There's a child living in everyone of us... how I wish I could be in Narnia too, where I'm one of the queens with a skill of shooting arrows or fighting with sword, the animals can talk, cute creatures, moving trees and a big talking-magic lion named Aslan to take care of you & give good ending. Sounds fun, isn't it? ;-)

Went to JPA, study leave etc...

This morning, I had a meeting with Datuk KP... actually it involved all of us which currently/will further study. Nak laporkan status pun nervous, ntahapahapantah... maybe sebab perut lapar & tekak sakit kot.

On Tuesday, went to JPA to submit a photocopy of offer letter & IELTS result. Agreement document & a few related forms were given to me to be filled & submitted back to JPA as soon as possible so that I can apply for visa. Got to make an appointment for medical checkup first... ni yg buat lembab (or lembap?) ni.

In the evening today, I received a letter from JPA, handed to me by a colleague. Well, JPA has approved my study leave from Sept 22, 2008 which is a week before the start date to Oct 7, 2009, a week after the end date of my study as stated in the offer letter. I think I'll fly to Liverpool on Sept 19 at night or Sept 20 in the morning... depends on the schedule of Meet & Greet service at Manchester Airport by University of Liverpool. Need to confirm the schedule. Btw, bulan pose tu... hmmm...

Here's an image from Google Earth... soon, I mean 4 bulan lagi, maybe this is the route that I'll take almost everyday... from my room at Melville Grove to my class/lab at Dept of EEE. Nampak mcm jauh kan. The distance is about 0.4miles (0.64km)... tak lah jauh sgt. Tiap2 hari ulang-alik jln kaki, boleh lah dianggap sbg senaman ringan.

Happy Mother's Day!

Last night, we celebrated Mother's Day at Secret Recipe, Alamanda. Nothing much, just makan-makan session. It's the thought that counts, right... sambut awal sikit since Mak might go to Johor this weekend.

The cake...

Antara menu yg sempat aku snap...

Time to wrap the makan-makan session up... the strawberry was melting...

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, my mom especially.
You're loved and appreciated.

Berakhirnya Kursus QA

The last day of the course... SPSS exam. Pic was snapped before the exam.

Bermakna dah 6 minggu berlalu... 1 April - 9 Mei 2008. Tak yah dah ulang-alik ke INTAN. What will I miss most? Maybe the free every-Wednesday nasi ayam.

Kursus QA ni terbahagi kepada 3 modul:

1. Metodologi Penyelidikan - kualitatif, kuantitatif, theoretical framework, hypotheses, sampling, questionnaire, scale, ordinal, nominal... & mcm2 istilah lain yg rasa tak related pun dgn bidang aku... 3 minggu plak tu. So, got to attend the lectures with a lot of patience.

2. Statistik - numbers are easier to understand... tp byknya formula. Nasib baik open-book exam.

3. SPSS - to start the program, click the icon on the desktop, create new data, bla bla bla... errr... ntah bila lah aku nak guna software ni.

Ada satu tahap rasa course ni mcm boring giler... tp bila dah abis ni, rasanya it wasn't that bad after all. Rasa mcm bercuti pjg plak sbb lama dah tak masuk ofis. Each modul ada exam. Skip the hypotheses testing process... at 100% confidence level, there is enough evidence to conclude that I pass. :-)

Iron Man

4.5/5 stars!
Category:Movies
Genre: Action & Adventure

Tgk kat GSC Midvalley.

Best! Aku suka! Lawak lah... for me lah... x tau lah org lain. I just expect the movie would be like another superhero movie, but somehow it's different, different in a way of the Iron Man's character... maybe because I know nothing bout Iron Man, so I watched the movie with no high expectation. The movie is very entertaining & amusing! Maybe lah part action dia kureng ker, whatever... tp lawak dia mnjadi utk aku.

Aku x tau nak letak genre apa... either Action & Adventure or Comedy... I really like the movie for its comedy part... but I think Marvel would want it to be Action. So genre action la...

A must-watch for its sequel!

My room @ Liverpool!

I got another room offer from Accommodation Office, University of Liverpool! After rejected the previous offer, I had re-apply with different preference and waited nervously. Since it would be very slim chance that I would be offered a single bedsit at Philharmonic Court (btw, there are only 10), I put Melville Grove size B as my 1st choice... and I got it!

Floor plan of Melville Grove's single study bedrooms size B... my room!

I chose this room basically because it's larger (of course, with extra fee), washbasins and telephones in all bedrooms (however, shared kitchens and bathrooms)... and from the survey I did thru one of the forums on Internet, seems like the rooms are favorite among the students coming to UoL, of course after single bedsits. So, why not I give it a try too...

Here's the detail about my room...

----------
Room and Hall: 83, Melville Grove size B - S/C
Address:
University of Liverpool
Melville Grove
81 Grove Street, Edge Hill
Liverpool
L7 7AD
United Kingdom
First day of occupancy: 21-SEP-2008
Last night of occupancy: 12-SEP-2009
Days of contract: 357 (51 weeks)
Cost: GBP77.00 per week (GBP3,927.00 per year)
----------

I emailed Mei, the Malaysia representative (the one who had given me a call the other day), asking her opinion on the hall... she replied my email...
Melville Grove isnt very far from the Department of EEE, its really only about a 10 mins walk (or less, if you walk fast!)...and to the city centre, it would be about a 10-15mins walk..its a great choice, Melville Grove is usually 2nd or 3rd years and postgrad students, so it tends to be quieter, not as noisy as halls with freshers...
:-)... I'm glad that the location is perfect... I think I'm ok with the hall tends to be quieter (very good indeed for my bedtime), though I hope there'll be a lot of 1st year postgrad students and lots of international students as well. So, this is the room where I'm gonna stay during my study at Liverpool. Guests are allowed to stay occasionally, so feel free to come and crash out (I have a list of items to bring along...).

For now, I just pray that everything would be fine...
