Weekend, Sex & The City

I have to admit that rite now I'm so into SATC. Well, I've finished watching Season 1, 2... on the way to finish Season 3... so 3 more seasons to go. So here I am, acting like Carrie Bradshaw & trying to write something 'cute'. No, I'm not gonna write about sex & the city where I live in... nothing much to tell anw. I don't live in a metropolitan city like New York & in fact the country where I live in, is like the opposite where talking about sex is basically a taboo & probably will result in unwanted attention by unwelcome visitor to this innocent blog of mine... hikss.

I did nothing on weekend... absolutely nothing except watching TV & SATC series DVDs, internet surfing, reading the rented novel (just a few pages though), eating & sleeping. I was kinda locked myself inside the house & hibernated. Luckily, I have quite a stock of food stored at home so that I could hibernate peacefully. No need to start the engine & go out. I got a headache on Sunday evening, consumed 2 pills of Panadols & drifted off to sleep after watching CSI from 9 to 12pm. A lil bit surprise because I had no idea that this week it'd be a season finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. 17 weeks have passed? It's amazing how fast the time went by...

Yeah, just like the 2 days of hibernation. We can never have enough weekend I guess. The only moment that time had slowed down a lil was during the BTN course... & while D is away. Yeay he'll be back tomorrow. ;-)

The good thing about doing absolutely nothing on weekend is I feel really fresh & ready to work on Monday... seriously. Today, I had pushed my brain to work twice harder compare to the days before & skipped the Monday blues. Btw, can't wait for another weekend... lalala...

Sushi For Beginners

I think I'm a lil bit smarter after going to BTN. I'm hungered for a smart intriguing story. I felt like reading a novel with political plots. So, I went to a book store to rent a novel written by maybe John Grisham, Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum. I had already picked "The Pelican Brief" by John Grisham but then I saw other novel... the title hooked me immediately... "Sushi For Beginners" by Marian Keyes. The title rings a bell to me but I don't know how & when. After all, I decided to put back the Grisham's novel & rent Keyes' instead. Yeah, so much for a smart intriguing reading... :-P

Besides the title, I've been always like a story with many characters. In "Sushi For Beginners", there were 3 women. The rest... I have to finish reading the novel before making further comment. Based on the customer reviews at Amazon.com, the novel got an average 4 out of 5 stars.

Somehow, even I don't think the story is related to sushi or Japanese culture, it reminds me of my 6-months stay in Japan. I'm not a Japanese food lover, not even sushi. I had been ready mentally to consume Japanese food & become a fish-eater during my stay over there. I've been treated with sushi during my welcome lunch. I'd say that it's sushi for beginners...

An awesome way to deal with emotions...

Whenever I feel my emotions getting the best of me, I simply picture an empty box and I take whatever I'm feeling and put that in the box. And then, I picture myself putting the box away in a big, empty closet and closing the door. Then, if I have time, I go back and open the box and deal with the emotion, in private, like a lady.

This & That: BTN

Phewww... I've completed the BTN's program *related post*. InsyaAllah, lulus kot.

Ok, a few about this & that regarding the BTN's program...

1. 1st time kene gigit pacat! But I guess I've been blessed. Why? Firstly, sebab org kata pacat tu hisap darah kotor. So somehow I feel healthier. Secondly, I didn't even see the pacat. Sedar2 tgk kaki berdarah. Maybe pacat tu ada kat stokin. Mmg tak tgk pun masa tanggal stokin so I didn't notice it. I didn't dare check the stocking... I threw them away. Penakut... hehehe.

2. 1st time nari pocor-pocor. When the jurulatih mentioned that we'd have pocor2 in the evening, I was looking forward for it. I've known about pocor2... it's a famous group activity nowadays. Something like aerobic. Siap penah carik kat YouTube video pocor2. So, if you don't know what is pocor2, try to search it on YouTube. Maybe my spelling is incorrect. The step is repetitive. I prefer playing PS2 dance pad.

3. Fortunately, nice facilitators were assigned to my group for LDK sessions. Somehow both of them managed to deliver a different point of view from mainstream or alternative media... at least to my shallow knowledge. Despite the idea of gonna be brainwashed, I'm open minded enough to really listen to the lectures. I found out the story regarding the politics is very intriguing. But still, I have no interest to participate in politic, the possibility is still 0 but now, I have the interest to know what's going on in political world. Somehow it reminds me to Sidney Sheldon's story... yes, I have a shallow political minded. How can I relate a supposed-to-be-a-true-story to a fiction. I do feel the story is more real & somehow based on the theory (yes for me it just a theory because no matter how convincing the story is, since I live in a free country where the government has the power, with a constitution & laws where we have to believe a person is not guilty until proven guilty), I do believe the story.

4. The exam, for me was a very sleepy one. Every time reading the questions it was like receiving a dose of sleeping pill. Just imagine, there are 60 questions... when I finished answering the last question, I was officially need some sleep. Well the questions are more to current issue. Tak byk pun on history. So my tips are no need to read the notes bersungguh2... rasanya tak baca pun takpe & use your logic to answer the questions. Hehee... mcm confident je luluskan.

5. Overall, it was a very tiring program. The schedule is tight. It wasn't only tiring in terms of physical, I was also tired of the hectic pace of the program. There was a point if I'd given a choice I'd quit just to get more time to sleep. This is my 2nd time going to BTN. But as far as I remember, the previous one which was at Ulu Kenas, Perak wasn't as tiring. However, it was still bearable.

6. Pujian harus diberikan kepada urusetia. Bukan nak bodek k. I give credits to those who deserved. They had treated us well. Sometimes, feel nervous to join this kind of program sbb takut kene marah dgn urusetia/jurulatih, ala2 mcm orientasi gitu... tp they were nice, takde marah2 or tengking2. Tak yah segan nak request apa2 kecuali balik awal sebelum program tamat la kot. I gave 2 comments on the program & both of my comments were responded during the closing session. Firstly, the tight schedule... however, that's the best they can do or else the period of the program needs to be longer. For me, they just need to remove the activity that is less effective voted by participants. Secondly, the drinking water facility. On the 1st day I was kinda dehydrated, the plain water for drink only available at the dining hall. Actually, before there were water coolers at lecture hall & dorm... they'll re-install the facility soon.

Yahoo... BTN dah abis! Next, completed all the forms given by JPA & visa application. 2 months, 3 weeks & 6 days until I'm going to Liverpool... nervousnya...

Kung Fu Panda

From review that I've read on the movie, movie ni kelakar giler, so automatically I kinda had high expectation on the movie. I thought I'd laugh guling2 over the movie. However, turns out it isn't that funny.The movie is ok, there's a funny part, I did laugh tp tak sampai rasa nak pecah perut. For me the first Ice Age is better. I miss the moment of gelak bagai nak rak dalam wayang, that's why I'm looking forward to watch this movie. The online & telephone reservation for the weekend is already fulled. So, for the first time I used GSC E-payment Ticketing & purchased movie tickets via Maybank2u. It's convenient alright compare to 5-minutes drive from my house to Alamanda & an expected long queue to purchase the ticket at the counter.

Btw, even though it's animation I don't think it's suitable for kids... ok, I'm being unkind :-P. The kids at my left & right side gapped by 1 chair each side from mine, kept asking questions. Somehow, it makes me wonder whether the movie is too complicated for kids or the kids nowadays are over-guided by their parents that they need to refer each move making by the characters to their parents. I do think that some parents do think that their child being talkative is cute... yeah, maybe... but not in a cinema. Thanks. Ok, that comment is not related to the movie.

The movie is simple actually... about a panda who loves kung fu & somehow destined to be the one Dragon Warrior. Moral of the story is there is no secret ingredient. The secret ingredient to success is absolutely nothing but you believe in yourself. "To make something special you just have to believe it's special" rings a bell to me & I couldn't agree more.

Ok, I have 10 minutes before getting ready to pick up D at LCCT. After a while trying out this & that to enhance my blog, I think I should stop or else I'll end up mess it instead. D has been away for 2 weeks & I'm looking forward to meet him. Well, actually 2 weeks is nothing compare to the coming 1 year of separation. However, it won't be 1 year of not seeing him at all... he'll be visiting me in December & April... hopefully everything will be going on as planned.

Btw, I have paid deposit GBP150 for accommodation... which is equal to RM900++. Maybank has already processed the transaction, so now I have secured the room. No turning back, or else the money hangus. Me going to Liverpool is getting real... mcm lah selama ni tak real... but now I feel more real. Mcm tak caya jer.

Oh yer, I'll be going to BTN at Ulu Sepri, N9 next week. Erghh, I'm not looking forward for this program especially lately I think 6 hours sleep is not enough for me... & I need to make sure I'm fit for the physical activities... rite now I doubt it. Ok, I'll start doing exercise using PS2 dance pad tomorrow... yer lah tu... I'm saying this to myself everyday... & everyday when I reach home, I'll forget.

Lunch at Chelos

This is the first time I dined there. Went with Saira... we are supposed to be on diet after invested on Melilea, but somehow our stomachs are still refuse to settle only with the grass organic drinks. Well, maybe we won't lose weight after all, but still we'll be healthier hopefully... healthier without quotation mark ok.

Btw back to our lunch, Saira had nasi campur while I had mee goreng mamak. The service is quite slow... lambat gak lah nak sampai mee goreng mamak tu. The mee goreng mamak is quite oily & it's fried with grinded nut... maybe nak bg rasa crunchy kot... but I don't like the taste of nuts in fried mee. Overall, the mee goreng mamak is ok... cukup lah rasa garam dgn kicap & the lauk for nasi campur look tasteful too. However, mee goreng mamak I had at KopiClub in Low Yat Plaza is better. So, here's what I ate for lunch today...

Selamat Pengantin Baru, Pak Tam!

Hari ni balik kg... kenduri kawen Pak Tam. Pak Tam nikah on Jumaat, kenduri pihak pompuan hari Sabtu... so today, kenduri pihak lelaki plak. Tema kaler purple... yer purple. Senang, bleh recycle baju dr kenduri my cousin bulan Feb lepas. Tp aku tak pakai purple, pakai pink sbb baju purple tu tak basuh lg... dok dlm bonet keter, lupa nak anta dobi. Semoga Pak Tam & pasangan berbahagia hendaknya hingga ke akhir hayat.

Fuel price hike

On June 4, our PM announced price hikes for petrol, diesel and electricity. The new price for petrol is RM2.70 a litre, effective midnight June 5. The price goes up by 78sen from the current RM1.92, a hike of 40%. On the day of the new price hit, I think I saw gloomy expressions everywhere, maybe it was just my imagination. I myself, felt like carrying a burden in my heart - the sympathy to those who less fortunate & the urge to cut the expenses.

40% increase? Ok, we'll get a RM625 annual cash rebate per vehicle. Still it doesn't help much... I don't have to do a calculation here to prove it. But I guess better than nothing.

Fuel price hike... I'm sort of drained with this topic. Everyone is talking about it. Of course everyone who has to pay for the fuel feels the burden. Today, for the 1st time after the increase, I filled in the tank. RM75++ for about 3/4 full. I have to learn to get use to it.

Go Genting!

On Monday, me, KTy, Nurul & Ayap went to Genting Highlands. There were so many people... what a crowded place! At 12:30pm, we entered Snow World & chilled ourselves in the room, not to mention the pain in the ass as we raced down the snow slide. It was my 2nd time but as far as I remembered no such pain. Maybe the ice was smoother back then & I was lighter ;-). Then, we went for EuroExpress ride. Since there was a long queue for each ride, Nurul & Ayap only managed to ride Cockscrew Corkscrew & Space Shot at the Outdoor Theme Park. Me? I have rode those two rides like a million times... ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little... dozen times, more or less... I wasn't really excited & the long queue absolutely turned me off. I was more interested on taking their pictures while riding those thrill rides... & other pictures. So, here's a few pics...

I don't really like the movie. It should be better than the other 3 previous movies but turns out it's on par with the previous installments... or maybe a lil bit below when come to the spaceship or the creature from the space beyond the space or whatever the creature is. An alien? Oh, please. In addition, I think this latest installment is less adventurous. Thanks but no thanks to CGI. The effects were misused. However, the movie is still entertaining.
