I don't mind being called a geek...

... & I don't mind being called a cheapskate either. ;)

Yesterday I went to Mines to buy a new mouse.

D suggested a wireless mouse that cost nearly RM70. I agreed. But then, I thought it was too expensive. So I looked around for a standard optical mouse. The price was around RM25. At last I found the one which cost only RM9.90. I said to myself, why not. Even the old one was a free gift & had no brand but still lasted long. Rosak pun sbb dah jatuh byk kali. I wasn't surprise when I found out that the button didn't work well anymore.

Gambar hiasan utk yg tak kenal mouse.

Lepas dah pilih mouse, tetiba rasa nak beli USB hub plak since the one that I'm using now is not 2.0 compatible. Belek2 USB hub yg ada sampai hujung rak. There I saw a 4-port USB hub for RM10. Bingo!

Took a look around the computer shop, until I decided to buy a screen protector. Not so many choices. So I just picked a screen protector for 13.3" & asked the SA is't for a wide screen. He asked another SA & that SA pointed to the letter W on the cover. Ohh.. ok W stands for wide. It was time to pay or I might end up buying other computer accessories as well.

I went home without new clothes, shoes or handbags even there were CNY sales everywhere in the shopping complex.

So, I guess you understand now why I'm not very keen to buy designer handbags. But of course, I'll be super-excited to get one for free.

Maybe I'm indeed a geek + cheapskate. =P

Don't know what type of geek I am though.

♥ rate

Actually I wanna write something on my losing weight program or my biggest loser program to make it sounds like I'm one of the contestants in the famous reality show. The program is still going on & I'm still feeling F... F simply stands for 'Fat' or to be a bit creative in exaggerating the feeling, F stands for 'F*cked-up cos I'm Fat'.

I think one of the most elements that needs to be monitored to ensure that our workout is efficient for fat burning is the heart rate. Ok, here's the info excerpted from the Fitness^Concept website...
Why monitor your heart rate?

You're huffing and puffing through another aerobic workout, wondering if you're really doing yourself any good. Are you working too hard or not hard enough?

You look around. The person next to you has barely broken a sweat while the one in front is drenched from head to toe. Well, sweat may not be the best indicator of exercise intensity. For that, we need to look to our hearts.

Heart rates, to be exact. When you exercise, your heart beats faster to meet the demand for more blood and oxygen by the muscles of the body. The more intense the activity, the faster your heart will beat. Therefore, monitoring your heart rate during exercise can be an excellent way to monitor exercise intensity.

So, for now I'll use this table as my reference.

Credit to Fitness^Concept.

So that means I have to work out for 40 to 80 minutes at heart rate between 114 to 133 bpm in order to burn fat. Sounds like a hard work to me. However my approach is better take a small step than nothing. No wonder, I hardly lose weight... maybe the small step is too small? Hahaa.

Nak ni!

Hati kata "Beli, beli, beli."
Orang kata "Baik beli oven, puas membakar."
Orang lain kata "Bagus microwave convection ni... macam2 boleh buat."
D kata "Tunggu raya cina."
Akal kata "Survey dulu..."

Ok lah, kita survey sampai raya cina. ;)

Super Duper Cute

Masa raya hari tu, sempat posing...

tp yang ni 2D.

Masa gi graduation day hari tu, kat wayang ada plak yg ala-ala 3D. Nak posing beriyer2 segan. So duduk jer lah kat kerusi.

I did watch the 1st one. Tu pun sebab free, GSC Ala^manda buat promotion masa baru bukak kot.

I think I just meant to watch the sequel even though I didn't plan to.

Memang cute sgt. Rasa mcm nak bela sekor (atau beberapa ekor). Sape yang tak nak kan bela chipmunk yang pandai bercakap & menyanyi. If I have to choose which one, I guess I'll choose either Theodore or Simon. Alvin tu nakal & degil sangatlah. So annoying. What makes the movie extra cute is the chiplets. What a cuteness!

Kesimpulannya, filem ini adalah sebuah filem yang comel sesuai untuk tontonan seisi keluarga. At least me & my family did enjoy watching it. =D

New Year Holiday

The holiday was planned just a few days ago.

Relaxing scenery, undulating sea waves, white sandy beach, good company a.k.a. my family, home-made meals, comfortable stay, untiring journey -- resulted in a great vacation. Memang best!

This is where we had stayed.

View from the balcony.

The Crocs owner had so much fun mandi laut.
The owner's pics do not fulfill the requirements to be published in this blog.

Some of the typical-but-fun activities.
Luckily we had a child model.

Swimming (read: soaking) in the sea in the morning accompanied by the rainbow.

Ulang semula... memang best! =D

I've decided to keep my age secret.

Ok lah... as most bloggers, I'd like to reflect upon the year 2009, or to be specific my ups & downs when I was a year younger than today.

Let's start with the downs 1st. Err... I guess let's skip the downs one & just proceed with the ups since all the bad things happen to be good at the end.

So let's just take a stroll down memory lane.

☑ Last year I celebrated the new year in London with D.
☑ I went home in April. I'd say the best vacation that I ever had. No regret for spending money just to be home for a week.
☑ Kept on struggling for the master degree.
☑ On the last day of the master program, we had to present our dissertation. I could say that it was the best presentation I've delivered during the program (I've delivered 2 presentations before). So I was happy.
☑ Finished the master program & went home for good.
☑ Went back to UK to attend the graduation ceremony. I pass with distinction bebeh! I think this is the highlight of the year.
☑ Stayed in UK for 2 weeks - had been a Londoner & visited the land of the Braveheart.
☑ Renovated the house - tiled the porch & installed a bigger gate, cemented the back yard & installed built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom. I guess, for now we've done with the house renovation.
☑ Beauty-wise & health-wise, I started giving my face extra attention & signed up with a fitness centre. Signed up last Tuesday & managed to go on Wednesday & Thursday. Luckily, it's closed today or else I might go as well.

So we're in 2010 now. Yesterday, I cut my hair at the saloon provided by the fitness centre. Today, I eat a lot. I guess on a special day of mine, it's ok. Tomorrow, I'll have a vacation nearby a beach with my loved ones. I guess, it's a good way to start the year 2010 before the holiday is over.

2010, you are most welcome! =)
