♥ rate

Actually I wanna write something on my losing weight program or my biggest loser program to make it sounds like I'm one of the contestants in the famous reality show. The program is still going on & I'm still feeling F... F simply stands for 'Fat' or to be a bit creative in exaggerating the feeling, F stands for 'F*cked-up cos I'm Fat'.

I think one of the most elements that needs to be monitored to ensure that our workout is efficient for fat burning is the heart rate. Ok, here's the info excerpted from the Fitness^Concept website...
Why monitor your heart rate?

You're huffing and puffing through another aerobic workout, wondering if you're really doing yourself any good. Are you working too hard or not hard enough?

You look around. The person next to you has barely broken a sweat while the one in front is drenched from head to toe. Well, sweat may not be the best indicator of exercise intensity. For that, we need to look to our hearts.

Heart rates, to be exact. When you exercise, your heart beats faster to meet the demand for more blood and oxygen by the muscles of the body. The more intense the activity, the faster your heart will beat. Therefore, monitoring your heart rate during exercise can be an excellent way to monitor exercise intensity.

So, for now I'll use this table as my reference.

So that means I have to work out for 40 to 80 minutes at heart rate between 114 to 133 bpm in order to burn fat. Sounds like a hard work to me. However my approach is better take a small step than nothing. No wonder, I hardly lose weight... maybe the small step is too small? Hahaa.

at gym here, all machine have a heart rate sensor.. i think 114 to 133 is impossible if u run.. usually my heart rate will be 140++ and sometimes when it reach 159, i will try to slow down... anyway.. 133 is to low...

this is my fav machine : http://www.illumineti.com/blog/images/elliptical.jpg

i always do 30 minutes.. :) try this one if ur place have it...

yeap... the machine has a heart rate sensor. i'm so in love with elliptical. actually masuk the website to usyar elliptical. mmg x pdg dah treadmill, lg2 after reading that elliptical is better than treadmill for working out. no impact on ur feet. u r rite usually the heart rate will reach 140++... before I thought the heart rate for fat burning is between 120 to 150 & use the machine for 40mnts at level 3. mmg seronok lah lari. now, i increase the level to 7 so that i'll slow down, still the heart rate goes beyond 140++. last sat, used the machine for 60mnts, 30mnts x 2. i hv to admit at level 7 i already think it's harder & time ran slower. but i believe, lama2 become fitter & the hate rate will drop. tp kan i do think the machine provided is not so good, i mean x canggih sgt & it doesnt calculate the calorie burn rite.

yeah.. this one is better than treadmill.. Last time i usually run 45 to 1 hrs at level 5.. but starting last sem I increase to level 8.. Now I'm on level 10 or sometimes 12.. So, I decrease time to 30 minutes.. When you get use to level 7.. it'll be easier to increase the level.. Sini machine very good.. ada calories meter, distances, and boleh tgk tv or just watch ur progress kat screen elliptical.. kat gym yg catz mesti better than azzarah right?
