Pregnancy & I

Alhamdulillah, so far me & baby are doing fine. Fetal growth is normal, so does my 'growth' I guess =P. A few weeks ago, I determined to write the experience of being pregnant. Now that I have less than half way to go, I don't know how & from where to start.

When I found out that I'm pregnant, the 1st concern was nak checkup & bersalin kat mana?? I think these 2 are related to each other. I prefer to do the antenatal checkup at the place that I'm gonna deliver my baby.

For the 1st 2 checkups (5 & 8 weeks), I went to Annur. However, I have no plan to deliver at Annur, sebab tu lah kene decide awal2 nak bersalin kat mana. I'm afraid, as time goes by, I'd feel comfortable at Annur, malas nak fikir dah & decide to deliver my baby there. Not that Annur is a bad place for delivering... just that I wanna keep my option open. Lagipun, somehow D prefer if I deliver the baby at a 'real' hospital.

Coincidently, KTy mentioned about reading there is a private wing at Hospital Putrajaya (HPJ). Being the nearest hospital from my home & offers private service... I couldn't ask for more. So, after googling for the info (which is not many), I decided to deliver under FPP (Full Paying Patient) scheme.

Under the FPP scheme, GL tak laku. Bayar sendiri macam swasta. Somehow I feel at this 'age' & for the 1st baby, I don't wanna take risk on having to deal with an unpredictable service/treatment (or I just being ngengada :P). Biasa lah kan kalau under gomen, ada yang ok & ada yang tak. For the 1st experience of delivering a baby, I'm hoping for a good one. Tapi bersalin swasta pun belum tentu terjamin dapat servis yang ok. Well, kita manusia hanya mampu merancang. So, for me this scheme is like a fair solution between government & private. Back to the FPP scheme, I can choose my own obstetrician. There are 4 (2 female & 2 male) to choose from & I chose Dr.Hamidah (DH). Instead of going to KK, I have my antenatal checkup at O&G dept of HPJ.

I guess memang rezeki kot. The 1st time I had an antenatal checkup there, actually I just wanted to know more about the scheme & set an appointment to meet the doc. The nurse called DH to set the appointment. Turned out DH wanted to meet me that day. For the 1st visit, as a new case I had to pay RM110.

Every checkup we have to scale our weight, take blood pressure & urine test. Then the doc will consult us & perform a detailed scan of the baby. Of course, I guess like other mommies-to-be, I love the scanning part. It's like a meet-up session with my unborn baby :).

So far I only have to wait maximum for about 1 & 1/2 hours compare to Annur where I had to wait for like 3 hours to meet the doc. Pagi tadi paling sekejap, 1/2 jam je. Being under the FPP scheme, we have the privilege to cut the queue ;). In term of the charges, I think FPP is cheaper compare to Annur. However, I think the scanning machine at Annur is more high-end. I can't compare with the government standard procedure such as checkup at KK because I've never been to one for antenatal checkup.

Talking about cutting the queue, during the 2nd visit, I was a bit blur of the procedure. I went to the O&G counter directly but the nurse asked me to take a number 1st (dengan muka kerek). I was like, what number?? Somehow yang dia tau under FPP pun kene amik nombor kat kaunter pendaftaran. Nurse baru kot. Sabar je lah. Actually instead of going thru the standard procedure like queuing to take the number for registering, wait for your number to be called at the registeration counter, then only you'll get the number to meet the doc; just directly go to the counter 2, tell the staff that you're under FPP scheme, register & make the payment at the same counter.

If I'm not mistaken there are 12 executive rooms provided but only 6 are dedicated for maternity. Nak bersalin nanti kene bayar deposit RM3k.

Ok, panjang dah ni. Nanti sambung lagi.
