Parenthood Talk

Yesterday after work & picking up Honey at the nursery, I went to Honey's favorite teacher's house which I called Kak Sal for the 1st time. Actually she had been absent for 2 days, Tuesday & Wednesday. Other teachers at the nursery told me that she wasn't well. So I decided to visit her. Actually I've been wanted to go to Kak Sal's house for quite sometimes now, since she has always offered taking care of Honey not only at the nursery, but I don't have proper reason to do so. So when she didn't show up at the nursery on Wednesday, I guessed I should visit her then.

She's Honey's favorite teacher because Honey only wants to be attended by her. Last 2 days, when I sent Honey to the nursery, Honey would cry because I passed her to other teachers, not Kak Sal since Kak Sal wasn't there. Somehow despite being sent to the nursery almost everyday, Honey's very selective. She refuses to be with just anybody. She meets the other teachers almost everyday too, just like she meets Kak Sal but somehow she only wants to be with Kak Sal.

So the statement that every baby is unique is very true. For me, it's very surprising to see how Honey develops her own character despite the environment where she has grown up. Before I thought we parents were 100% responsible to determine our children characters by providing the right environment & example. Now I know that even 1 year old kid is smart enough to has her own preference regardless her small world that is provided by her parents.

Yesterday at Kak Sal's home we did discuss about this, about how babies can have their own preference & character. The owner of the nursery, Husna, is quite strict & try to discipline the kids while on the other hand Kak Sal prefer to be more flexible towards kids. As for me, I'm glad that Honey is trained to adapt to both situation. Glad that there's someone like Kak Sal with her full of sifat keibuan & Husna with her role as the pengetua taska.

Ok lah I have more to say actually on this matter... so will continue later if the time & mood permit, insyaAllah of course.
