Ramadhan kareem peeps!
Alhamdulillah, berpeluang lagi menempuhi bulan yang mulia ini.
Alhamdulillah, I had a very good 1st day of Ramadhan.
I have enrolled Iman to Hani's school. So no need to stop by 2 places to pick them up. Yesterday, JD picked them up.
Yesterday, JD was on leave. It was exciting to see the house is clean when I arrived. I had planned to take leave just to clean up the house. Seeing the house is spotless now, no point to take leave to do so.
My pray is also granted this year. Government finally implements special working hours for Ramadhan which we are able to go home 30 minutes earlier with 30 minutes shorter for lunchbreak. Actually I wish we could go home 1 hour earlier but that's better than nothing rite.
After discussing with JD, he said he doesn't mind preparing the kids in the morning & sending them to school. So I decided to start working at 7:30. So I can punch out at 4.
Alhamdulillah... I feel more relax this Ramadhan. Yesterday was the 1st day & just like I expected, I didn't need to rush. I got ample time to prepare meals for iftar. I cooked all the lauk yesterday which were sambal daging, park choy with oyster source & telur dadar. JD went to pasar Ramadhan just to buy kuih which was seri muka. Just simple dishes for iftar but more than enough for all of us. I plan to cook more this Ramadhan & buy less. For this week, I already stock up raw foods like chicken, shrimp, fish & squid in the freezer & vegetables like park choy, eggplant & long bean in the fridge.
I even managed to take a nap for 20 minutes before preparing the meals. Even before Maghrib, I had done with repacking the kids' bags for school tomorrow. So after Isyak, there was not much left to do.
We had iftar at the dining table in the kitchen. It was so much easier to set up the table & clean afterwards because everything is just around. Yay, less works. At 7 the kids already asked for rice but we managed to talk to them to wait for a bit more so that we could dine together.
I didn't go to surau/masjid to perform tarawikh. For the past 2 nighs, I did it alone at home. It is better that way I guess since it has been my routine that at 9:30 to 10 I'll bring the kids to the bedroom upstair & force them to sleep. Actually it's a failled attempt. They'll still play in the bedroom. I don't know how to make them sleep earlier. But I guess, if I prepare them to sleep later, they'll sleep later too. So, I'll perform tarawikh in the dim lit bedroom while in between ordering the kids to sleep.
So yes, so far I have a very good Ramadhan. Better than ordinary days I guess cos I feel calmer & somewhat less tired.
I don't have high goals this Ramadhan, just hopefully I could increase my ibadah & taqwa. However, I do hope I can be consistent even perform more ibadah until the end of Ramadhan especially the last 10 nites. I think that's the real challenge & I hope I can overcome it. InshaaAllah.
